I may be young,

but I am mighty.

If you read my book,

you will for sure feel

reassurance,

encouragement,

and hope.

A normal person has many ways to prove himself. But for me It is totally different. I don’t have so many

choices. I must fight to live and to prove that I worth the gift of God, “Life’’.

My name is Anthony Nahoul. I was born on the 3rd of November 1994 without any of my

3

four limbs and this was when I started the battle of my life.

To find a place in society isn’t that easy.

My God! what am I talking about?! To accept me as a human being, who has feelings and potential was very hard!

One of my dreams was to be a Page. But who will accept me? One of my cousins who knew about my dreams, asked permission 7

from my parents. Yes,.. my dream came true!! My parents bought mea new suit and then fixed it for me on a swivel walker, A

machine with a basket in which I Was able to stand up. It was a big day! I found myself in full happiness, Who

11

says that dreams don’t come true? With great will,Everything is trulyobtainable.

Every person has a lot of hobbies. for me music is my world. I took music lessons for 2 years, but then I stopped.

Playing basket was a way to feel free, but now I don’t have time. I also like to swim, but computer is now my new world which

15

has given me thechance to continuemy education, have new friends ,and be close to my friends not only in school but by chatting on

16

the internet too. my education was not easy for my parents. My dad persisted to do the impossible for me.He got teachers to

17

teach me at home until the age of 10and I did the final exams in school. Since then, God led the way! A new experience began.

How to get the school home? After a lot of studies and theories the only way was by a point to point system. Now we 19

have a new challenge of a new system especially for me to start.

Sponsors, who have big hearts, and for whom I take this opportunity to thank them, offered me equipment and the link to study. 21

Here I have been since grade 6 a student in The Rosary Sisters’School. All my life changed I am in a live contact with

a lot of people around me. Now my family is big. The fear from school disappeared, The school board, the teachers, and

the students accepted me as I am. They knew that it is very difficult for me to shift from the house to school. They made a big campaign .

They called it“ action d’amour’,Action of Love. and all the benefits from it went to buy me a big car specialFor my case. Now,

I can go to school whenever I must. All that changed

my life and gave me more confidence in myself.

To take the short way was easy, but I refused it. Two years ago, I had to sit for “Brevet”,the official exam = (grade9). In our country

Students do this Exam in schools other than theirs, and students with certain disabilities are sent to a special center.

For that I insisted on doing my official exam in the same school of with my fellow students and not with the other handicapped.

My parents presented a demand to the ministry of education and the answer came with anapproval. I did my exam successfully

Here I am now with my classmates in grade eleven. I Follow my lessons from home and I am very happy with all of them.

One year separates me from graduation and a new chapter will begin: University!! I am honest with myself, I know that

this challenge might not have begun yet, and all the things that I have experienced are simple compared to those

36

to come in the future. I have strong faith in God and I will not surrender. I will fight till the End of my life.

Believe me, there is an unknown fighter in everyone of us, but we must believe in ourselves and have the courage to accomplish our fight.
