Go Green, Learn to Appreciate The Nature One more event of the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences Local Comittee Brawijaya University (IAAS LC UB). The event, titled "GOGREEN" was organized by the Ministry Project with the chief executive ZulfinaChusnataini, FISIP UB student generation of 2010. Taking the theme "Knowledge-basedCommunity Exchange and Green Lifestyle", Go Green tried to bring all elements of societyto behave in green as a way to save the environment. Go Green with this activity, onemight expect lessons learned to appreciate nature and learn to understand more deeply, that the whole which is a creation of God, nothing is wasted. Go Green is a series of events comprising two core events, namely the GreenCampaign and Recycling. Go Green is the final work program of the Department of thestewardship project in 2011, under the leadership of Local Committee Director (LCD)Attabik M. Amrillah. Green Campaign Green Campaign is a green campaign activities, by inviting the citizens of the city ofMalang in particular, to begin to behave in order to save the environment green. GreenCampaign was held on Sunday, November 27, 2011, and followed by members of IAAS LCUB, both members of old and new members. Existence of Green Campaign is all of the participants walk away (tracking) of IAAS LC UB secretariat headed Sunday Market is located in the Ijen, Jl. Semeru as a center for green campaign targeting all visitors Sunday Market is in place. This green campaign to socializing green tips to save the environment in a persuasive manner that is accompanied by the distribution of free stickers that contain green tips to thetarget. The green tips are included in the sticker include: 1. Walk-Bike to Campus

Green Campaign

Green Campaign is a green campaign activities, by inviting the citizens of the city ofMalang in

This is an invitation to the people, especially academics campus to get used to reduce the

frequency of use of motor vehicles, and get used to walking or biking to campus. The

goalis to reduce air pollution caused by motor vehicle fumes, and in addition it

also invites for a healthy culture.

2. Say No to Plastic Bag

That is, invites residents to reduce use of plastic bags in any case, for example, when

shopping, buy food, and others. Because, hard plastic material that is degraded and

decomposed by soil when thrown away, let alone which of course it burned will result

in airpollution and lead to toxic carbon monoxide. For this reason, residents are

encouraged tofamiliarize themselves bring their own baskets or shopping bags and can still

be used again afterwards.

3. 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle)

The purpose of the 3R campaign is to understand that the 3Rs are:

REUSE (not all items used directly discharged into the garbage, because the creative

process can be useful for other functions),

REDUCE (to prevent or minimize the existence of disposable litter our results)

RECYCLE (separating waste by type which decompose easily, and make sure other

debris recycled).

4. Sort Your Waste Early

Invites residents to put waste and manage it according to its type:

Easily decomposing garbage (food scraps, leaves, twigs, etc.)

* Composting independently, or sent to a composting

Difficult to decompose trash (plastic, glass, crackle, metal, pipes, boxes, etc.)

* Donate or sell to places: thrift, recycling, scavengers

Utilizing compost as a fertilizer or planting media

5. Bringing food and beverage containers (tumbler) itself to reduce the use of plastic,

paperwrap, or Styrofoam as a food or beverage.

Recycling

Recycling activity is an activity in which participants learn to party with experience in

processing cow manure to serve as a useful biogas. Recycling is packaged in a studyexcursion, in

which participants other than the streets as well as learn new insights.Recycling is realized with a

visit to Mahad Nurul Haromain, Pujon, Malang Regency. One of

the caretakers cottage is Johan B. Pambudi, which is an alumni of UB's IAAS LC in 1992, and his

wife, Ma'am Ika, is also an alumni of UB's IAAS LC 1998. So, besideslearning how to cultivate the

experience of Mas Johan cow dung and cow urine into usefulbiogas for cooking or

electricity, also held by the alumni-sharing

experience IAAS LC UBalumni who have successful careers, among others who

attended the Mas Tefan, formerVice Director of Finance IAAS World, Mas Nanang, and Ma'am Ika

itself which is nowhelping to take care of the cottage Mas Johan Nurul Haromain, especially

children. In addition to process cow manure into biogas to be used in culinary purposes, and is

alsosometimes used for electricity, Nurul Haromain also have the seeds

of vegetables, fruits,and trees were cultivated.

The event began with remarks from the LCD and a representative of

UB's IAAS LC NurulHaromain Mahad, namely Ustad Tamami, then proceed with the provision

of spacematerial on waste management by Ika Ma'am. Both the initial event was held at

themosque. The next event is the matter field is accompanied by Ika and Ustad Baqi Ma'am,explain

the process of how cow manure (feces and urine) can be harnessed

into biogasand fertilizer. After interspersed with rest, prayer, and eat, followed

by experience sharingevents are filled by Mas and Mas Tefan Nanang. Until finally, the event was

closed with prayer by Ustadz Tamami at once closed by the chief executive Zulfina Chusnataini.
