The peace talks have been going on for 2 years and many believe that they will not result into anything. The President Juan Manuel Santos is trying to get the people and his government to push harder in the talks as he is tired of the violence. FARC also says that it is trying to pursue by peace but an attack last Tuesday makes everyone skeptical of this. The project if successful would be a crucial move towards decreasing the violence and actualizing change as the land mines represent a large problem for the administration. Many people have died and been disfigured by these land mines sometimes even rendering towns uninhabitable because of the mass amount of mines. Even after some success in getting rid of a lot of land mines many people are skeptical that anything will change.
