Its been months now, since I got these pair of eyeglasses. This is but just one of my remarkable memorabilia from being a die-hard player of the most famous android application Clash of Clans. It started when one of my close friends introduced me the said game. Clash of Clansis a 2012freemobileMMOstrategy video gamedeveloped and published bySupercell, a video game company based inHelsinki,Finland. The game was released foriOSplatforms on August 2, 2012. Later on, for the android version, it was soft-launchedinCanadaand Finland on September 30, 2013.On October 7, 2013, it was released onGoogle Playinternationally. Clash of Clansis an online multiplayer game in which players build a community, train troops, and attack other players to earngoldandelixir, and Dark Elixir, which can be used to build defenses that protect the player from other players' attacks, and to train and upgrade troops. Having your town hall (the heart of the community) at level 2 is the most lackluster part of being a beginner. But, as time goes by, I became familiar with its strategies, techniques, and even with the people who were playing it. I entered different clans, and met people whom in person were my constituents and professors.

Changes are inevitable, and we adopt it as if our lives were attached to it from the very beginning. It is our pride and glory to prove that our changes were developed for the upward mobility of our institution. Our campus library is one of our most featured Change in our university. Its accessibility, new technologies, and even the most comfortable spots to consider with, were regulated and systematically developed for a better study place. We emerged from primitive computers, slow system of checking out of books and unventilated spaces to the most advance technologies and new system that was innovated sufficient to the most comfortable campus library we can ever have.NEW LIBRARY CARDSBefore, it was a struggle to keep a library card inside the pocket of your bags, or even in between folders, wallets, or notebooks because of the fear of having it being soaked under the rain, or being crumpled unwantedly. Even that part where your ink ruined the cleanliness of it because of the need to fill in information using a pen was a hassle. But, because of the new and improved library card, there is no need to fear the rain. Unwanted crumples were out of the issue. The new library card comes in different colors representing each college, it also has barcodes (the next innovation will introduce the use of this barcodes), every detail were encoded and printed out, and the laminated card completed its perfection. Now, the students daily endeavor to maintain their library cards stability, and cleanliness was made easy.NEW CHECK-IN PROCESSWriting your complete name, course, I.D. number, and signature on a log book repeatedly, were also struggles that the students have surpassed. The barcodes as mentioned earlier was used to scan your way in for just seconds and without the aggravation to write relevant information on a log book. The new computer with a scanner located just beside the baggage counter stores information about the students and easily detects barcodes printed on a library card. It visibly states the time immediately when checking in, and checking out. With this new system of check-in process, students time was saved and accessibility was secured.NEW OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)OPAC before was the most nonfunctional part of the library. The computer used to access these catalogs was not even functional. But evident to its new functionality, the OPAC is now the best and reliable book finder inside the library. Software was developed named Koha which was programmed exclusively for our campus library. Koha stores relevant information as well as locations of the different books found inside our library. Because of the new and operative OPAC, the scrabble among the bookshelves was ended, and has changed into a stress-free book finding without the busy librarians help.

NEW INTERNET ACCESSNeed an internet access to update your status on your favorite social networking sites? It was indeed everybodys conspiracy in the past. But it was before the new system of accessing the internet in the library was innovated. Because of the inaccessibility of the students in social networking sites using the librarys internet access, it became limited to relevant and limited websites only such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Facebook? Nope. Better type google and learn things rather than learn irrelevant issues on facebook. CSU library (Internet Section)CHECKING OUT OF BOOKSLibrary cards arent the only ones that were given barcodes. Even books were labeled, and scanned before checking out for photocopying or for an overnight check out. It is now easier than the usual practice of the librarian in writing the code, number, etc. of the book on his log book. It consumes 5-10 minutes of writing process before the books would be easily checked out. Now, the only hassle thing to do was to wait for 3:00 pm (the set time by the librarian for checking out books) to come and you will be able to check out your books. It is now as easy as 1, 2, and 3! First, get the book you want. Second, proceed to check-out counter and let your book and library card be scanned by the librarian, and lastly get the receipt where the due date and time of your book was indicated.

The library is a benefactor and an integrator of knowledge. It feeds us not only wisdom but also the experience of accessing the world easily and conveniently. Today, with the advance technology and improved library, interacting with the world was made simpler and faster.Better pack up those bags, ready those learning spirit and proceed to the campus library!
