The Allegheny River Towns Enterprise Zone (ARTEZ) is a nonprofit community economic development agency serving seven communities along the north shore of the Allegheny River across from the City of Pittsburgh. Our work thrives on collaboration and the strength of partnership between our organization, the towns we serve, and the nonprofit and business communities. Our ultimate goal is to use our efforts to create communities that are viable places to live, work, and play. We envision that our seven communities will have thriving, walkable, and bikeable business districts; affordable, sustainable housing; scenic, accessible riverfronts; engaged residents, businesses, and youth; and increased capacity for implementing community successes both large and small. In this report, you will find more detail about how we started, what we are currently working on, and what is in store for the future.
