Matteralwaystendstoperish,whileenergyalwaysresiststowear.

Matterisalmostalwaysvisiblewhenenergytendstostayunseen.

Couldwemaketheexceptionthroughartandcapturetheenergyor

preservethematter?

DuringthepasttwoyearsasanIBVisualArtsstudentIhavebeen

examiningthoroughlyaphilosophicalconceptwhichisaboutthe

perishableandnon-perishablesubstanceofbeings.Howenergyis

preservedandneverdestroyed,whilematterinevitablyatsomepoint

throughtimeperishes.Thegreatestpartofmyworkisbasedupon

thisidea.Usingdifferentmaterials,color-techniquesand

experimentingwitheffectsoflightandshadows,Ihavetriedto

highlighttheextenttowhichrelativityandperceptionmatterswhen

onedealswithsuchabroadandcomplexconcept.

Oneofmymosttime-consumingprojectsis“thebalancingcostume”

whichrepresentsthepowerandself-protectionwhichonehas,once

he/sheachievestobalanceandcontrolhis/hernon-perishable

substance within his/her body. If according to the Hindu culture,

“chakras”representwhorlsofenergy,thenmycostumerepresentsa

protectivewebmadeoutofsevencoloredwires,oneforeachchakra,

whichincludesallofthem,likealifesizearmortoprotectthefragile

soul-entity.

Permanentversusever-changing,actualappearanceversusspiritual

existence,bodyversussoul;realorunreal?Truthorillusion?

Throughmyart,Iamconstantlyaimingatcapturingtheunseenand

hidetheobvious,inbothtwoandthreedimensions.Iamdetermined

toturnpainterlyideasintoseveralinstallationslike3Dunconventional

objects,structuredwithlight.
