A free art adventure for all to enjoy! Join us on Friday with friends and family to chalk the streets of downtown. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! Chalk will be provided for free or bring your own if you’d like.

The Lakeshore Art Festival, in conjunction with DTE Energy Foundation, is pleased to continue our GREEN initiative. Our goal is to significantly reduce the amount of waste generated by use of compostable and recyclable products. Additionally, recycling and composting bins will be located throughout our event. Please join us in “Keepin’ it Green” by looking for a recycling or composting bin BEFORE you dispose of your trash. Thank you!

FINE ART/FINE CRAFTEvent Partner: Nichols

With a keen eye and an intentional focus on fine art, the Lakeshore Art Festival is proud to feature over 110 jury selected Fine Art/Fine Craft exhibitors throughout beautiful Hackley Park. In its lush green setting with accents of vibrant flowery hues, the park hosts permanent works of art and is steps away from one of the nation’s best art museums, the Muskegon Museum of Art.

During the show, our exhibitors will be juried by professional artist and Grand Valley State University professor, Sarah Weber. $3000 in cash awards will be presented during the festival.

Awards created locally by Aenias Design Studio.

CRAFT/ARTISAN FOOD MARKETThe festival features a Craft section and an Artisan Food Market. Exhibitors from around the country will be selling handcrafted items ranging from jewelry, apparel and accessories to furniture, yard art and home décor. The Artisan Food Market is located on Clay Ave. offering spices, sweets, infused olive oils, gourmet dog treats and more!

People’s Choice AwardEvent Partner: Women’s Division Chamber of Commerce

Show our artists some love! Vote for your favorite craft exhibitor on Friday only. Visit lakeshoreartfestival.org and enter their booth number to vote. Booth numbers are displayed within each craft exhibitor’s space. Winners will be announced Saturday.

The Lakeshore Art Festival welcomes 20 authors who will showcase their original books near Clay Ave. and 2nd St.

“Step Into Art” at the Children’s Lane! Families will be entertained, educated and inspired by this artful experience! This year, the Children’s Lane theme is BUTTERFLIES! Exhibitor booths feature hungry caterpillar crafts, theatrical games, caricature drawings, interactive spin art, and more. Visit each booth and complete the butterfly scavenger hunt for your chance to win prizes!

Working with local schools and the Nuveen Art Center, students and guests will get creative with canvases! Classrooms will work on the project before the festival and their creations will be displayed on July 5 and 6. The Nuveen Art Center will host a painting celebration for guests to participate in during the festival. All canvases will be for sale, giving attendees the opportunity to own a piece of community made art!

Visitors will be able to watch art in motion as the artists bring their designs to life in Hackley Park and in the Children’s Lane. The final works of art will be auctioned off, with portion of the proceeds going to Read Muskegon.

The exhibition of artwork from Muskegon County students, grades K-12 will be returning for 2019. We invite you to chat with the students and take home a unique piece of budding artistry! All proceeds go to the student artists.

Empty CanvasEvent Partner: The Muskegon Chronicle/MLive

Art and music combine during this return performance by Empty Canvas! The audience is invited to help in the guided creation of a musician led painting, while the band plays live music. Sip on a beverage and join us at the Hackley Park Stage on July 5 from 4–6pm and July 6 from 12–2pm. The creations will be sold via silent auction at the information tent. A portion of the proceeds will go to help future art initiatives.
