Art Exhibition 2016

Art Exhibition 2016 This year’s Art exhibition was held in the lovely new light and airy hall at the Larch centre. The private view took place on Thursday evening . Families and guests of the young artists took the opportunity to enjoy a close look at the work on display whilst enjoying the live music provided by two of our art students, Jonathon Wallis and Holly Dear. The exhibition was then opened to the public over the weekend and it was wonderful to see so many visitors appreciating the hard work and huge talent of our students. The work in the exhibition was created by our GCSE and A Level students. There was something for everyone, from illustration, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles and even glass! The standard, as always, was incredibly high with a number of exciting topics explored, everyone agreed that our students had surpassed themselves. This wonderful occasion marks the final exhibition that I will have the privilege of helping to create as I prepare to hand over my position as Head of Department here at Simon Balle School. It was lovely to see many of my past students return and to hear of their successes out in the world, a proud moment indeed. Thank you all.
