The plan for each child is co-ordinated with the child’s parents to ensure an effective partnership in progressing each child’s development Each child achieves a solid foundation in inner confidence, concentration, personal and academic development in preparation for rapid progress at their first mainstream school

Treasure is a home away from home for children, we work side by side with parents to enable them to love learning, within a nurturing environment where they constantly achieve milestones on the path to essential development during the early years

Working in Partnership with Parents

We open at 7.30am for breakfast and close at 6.30pm so children can be dropped off early and collected after the work day is over. At Treasure our practitioners work in partnership with parents to support ongoing development of each child. This includes identifying learning needs and responding quickly to any difficulties. We provide regular information for parents about activities carried out by the children for example, through wall displays, photographs, examples of children’s work, notice boards and letters, including newsletters. We ensure effective continuity between school and home by sharing relevant information with parents.

At Treasure we take into account the individual needs of each child and tailor our approach for each child. Children are valued as unique individuals and diversity is respected.

Staff are appropriately trained, with up-to-date skills and qualifications. They are motivated and supported to increase their skills and identify further areas for development to improve the quality of provision for all children.

Our full days are from 7.30am until 6.30pm. Our morning sessions are from 7.30am until 12.30pm. Afternoon

Treasure Montessori nursery school provides a unique cycle

of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive

years between birth and 6 when she/hTe most intensively

absorbs information and learns from an enriched environment.

Your child will be encouraged and nurtured to pursue their

individual interests in a specially equipped Montessori class

room setting. Through this natural approach children develop

an early enthusiasm and confidence in learning, this is key for

developing an awareness of self, developing personal interests,

regard and respect for others, and laying the foundation for

A child that acquires the basic skills of reading and arithmetic

The Curriculum

Practical Life: Children begin to learn skills which are used in everyday life, such as cleaning exercises and food preparation. Through practical life your child will learn how to be self-reliant and therefore gain independence from an early age.

Literacy: Through use of specific materials children learn to recognise letters of the alphabet, and the sounds associated with different letters, this leads onto the development of reading skills. Writing skills are also developed using Montessori materials, these promote and refine hand-eye co-ordination and improve handwriting skills. As both handwriting and recognition of letters and words develop the child is exposed to more challenging words and books. Literacy skills are also developed through reading, singing, poems and encouragement of self expression.

Numeracy: Children learn about numbers, size, shapes, and quantity and work out the principles in operations like adding, dividing, subtracting and multiplying by using Montessori materials to give an early ease and grasp of mathematics.

The Arts: Drama, music and art lessons are incorporated into the routine at Treasure to allow children to explore and expand their creativity. Through both the visual and performing arts, children develop confidence which helps build their sense of identity. These creative subjects improve motor skills and increase ease and confidence working in teams.Sensorial: The Montessori philosophy is based on allowing children to learn using their senses. In sensorial, we develop skills in all the senses so children can differentiate objects and characteristics. It expands their vocabulary and increases their awareness.

Cultural: Children learn basic principles in Biology, Geography, History and Science. Using puzzle maps, flashcards, globes and other materials your child’s knowledge of the world around them is increased. This ensures that children are well-rounded individuals and develops their sense of citizenship.
