Why study art digital media?Art digital media professionals work in fields ranging from graphic design, website design to game design; from video editing to special effects creation. The industry is looking to hire visual artists, information architects, and digital media technicians all the time. Anyone interested in working creatively with computer technology would benefit from completing the Diablo Valley College art digital media certificate program or associate in arts degree.
What can I do with an art digital media degree or certificate?Students completing the degree or certificate of achievement will be working toward careers as web designers, video editors, digital effects artists, game designers, sound designers, and streaming media specialists, as well as a host of career paths centered
around technologies still to be developed.
What is the art digital media program?The program prepares students for entry-level employment in a variety of careers. As an art digital media student, you can choose to focus on one of six specialty areas: character animation, digital im-aging, web design, motion graphics, 3D animation, digital audio, and graphic design. This program of study will provide you with the design and technical skills needed to create projects for CD-ROM and DVD, the world wide web, and digital video.
If you complete our certificate of achievement or as-sociate in arts degree you will take classes that both enrich your skills as an individual creative profes-sional and expose you to the collaborative environ-ment frequently encountered in industry. Students completing our certificate of achievement also complete classes that explore career opportunities in computer-based creative production while simul-taneously developing a portfolio that is appropriate to their skill set.
