Mary Heilmann“Lovejoy”, 2004Oil on Canvas, 50x40 inchesMary Heilmann uses a lot of bright colors in her paintings as well as different shapes. She gets a lot of her ideas from her imagination and refers to music in some of her artwork.

Kristin KruszynskiAfter Mary Heilmann, 2014paint on poster board, 18x24 inchesI used a lot of bright colors in this just like Mary Heilmann uses in her artwork. I also added in a couple musical references since she gets some of her inspiration from music. I love how she uses bright colors which makes the art pop and her use of geometric shapes.

Robert MangoldSplit Ring Image 1, 2009Acrylic, graphite, and black pencil on canvas, 96 inches diameterRobert Mangold’s art uses the most simplest of shapes and adds a bit of flair to them with the addition of lines. A lot of his works contain shapes that are absent of a center. He also uses only two or three colors in his art.

Kristin KruszynskiAfter Robert Mangold, 2014colored pencil on poster board, 18x24 inchesIn my piece I used a square shape instead of a circle or arc that Robert Mangold usually uses. I picked a square because it has no center in it. I added in lines that encompass the whole square and used only two colors for the piece. I like how Robert Mangold is very simple with his work and uses minimal features.

William Wegman“Front Façade”, 1993Color Polaroid, 24x20 inchesWilliam Wegman uses his dog in his photos and videos. He has the dog in different situations usually dressed up like a human. The dog has the same expression on his face in many of the photos.

Kristin KruszynskiAfter William Wegman, 2014Color PhotoI like how William Wegman uses his dog in his artwork. It is very interesting and surprising the way he puts the dog in different costumes and how the dog stays put while he takes the photo! In this photo I tried to get the same style as William Wegman. (It was difficult trying to get one picture so I don’t know how William Wegman can get his dog to stay put for long!)
