Today is New Year’s Day, it’s also the first day of the first week of the new year. That also makes it Doughnut Fellowship day (how’s that resolution coming)? Speaking of resolutions, what is yours? And if you did, why did you wait till now to make it? I have a philosophy that anything worth doing, is worth doing now. I adopted this because I was (and still am to some degree) a procrastinator. When it comes to resolutions, we are procrastinators. That’s why we generally wait till the beginning of the year….put it off a little longer. Chances are, if you resolved to lose weight, you could’ve started in 2016. If you needed to save money, you could’ve started last year. The list goes on and on. Why put off till tomorrow what you can do today? If you made a resolution, stick to it! If you thought about starting something next week (or month, or year…) go ahead and do it now! If it’s worth doing then, its probably worth doing now. This is especially true for any spiritual goal you have in your life. James tells us that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. If your resolution was to attend regularly, study more often, pray more frequently, evangelize consistently, or be more involved, there is no time like the present! God loves for us to be faithful. Whatever we can do to love Him more and serve Him better will be a blessing to our lives! Making a resolution means that you are resolved to do something. That is a firm determination in your mind to accomplish a goal. However, we generally don’t treat resolutions with “firm determination.” Whatever your resolution, stick with it and see it through! Let completion, growth, and success be your motto this year! Let the Word of God be your words to live by in 2017. When you need guidance, there is no better place to go than the Bible. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Today is New Year’s Day, it’s also the first day of the first week of the new year. That a lso makes i t Doughnut Fellowship day (how’s that resolution coming)?

If it’s worth doing then, its probably worth

doing now.

This is especially true for any spiritual goal you have in your life. James tells us that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. If your resolution was to attend regularly, study more of ten, pray more f r e q u e n t l y, e v a n g e l i z e consistently, or be more involved, there is no time like the present!

(Continued on Page 2)

(continued from page 1) I hope that spiritual resolutions have made your list this year. Improving and growing, as a Christian, are worthwhile endeavors. Remember to pray about how ever it is you have chosen to grow this year. God desires for us to communicate with Him about the struggles, trials, gains, and successes in our lives! Lean on your brothers and sisters for encouragement and accountability. What a wonderful blessing to be part of God’s family!

Whatever you have selected as your resolution(s) this year, I pray that you stick to them. Our resolutions are generally things that make us better Christians and people. Remember that anything worth doing is worth doing now, and that we ought not put off what

we can do today!
