Engage is about KIB going out and connecting to diverse communities. It’s the energy of a group of volunteers arriving at a work site, full of enthusiasm for the work ahead of them. It’s the call to action that says “You can go do something to make your city better”. It’s the first-time volunteer that just had more fun shoveling mulch on a Saturday than watching TV or shopping.

Create is about the work KIB does in the communities they engage. It’s getting down in the dirt with volunteers and members of the community to make a public place for the neightborhood to enjoy. It’s an action that sets the community up for improvement both now and in the future.

Thrive is the final goal of what KIB does; the purpose of engaging and creating. Thrive is alive, healthy, and growing. It’s flouishing, and overflowing into the world around it. It’s people who know and feel the value of KIB’s work and mission. It’s the people in the new park picnicing, napping, playing. It’s the first soccer game where there used to be mud and trash. It’s that new shady spot that just became somone’s favorite place to read. It’s KIB helping people to have life in their neighborhood as it ought to be.
