This Forum is designed to provide a time saving way to learn about new technologies for high performance homes. The Forum will address the 'need-to-know' information on technologies selected by a leading group of builders in your local area. These builders identified the key priorities from their perspective and asked for deep technical and costing reviews. This process will enable an 'apples to apples' comparison against a base case home that will be addressed by their selected manufacturers and technical experts, including: DAY 1: Energy efficient wall systems (4 will be examined) DAY 2: Mechanical systems for use in efficient housing (3 types), and roof applied & integrated photovoltaic systems WHEN: Monday October 15 th and Tuesday 16th. Day 1: High Performance

Wall Systems

Monday, October 15, 2018 – Surrey

7 Continuing

Professional Development

Credits Pending Approval

High performance housing requires efficient walls as they have

a large impact on both conductive heat transfer and

uncontrolled air leakage.

Local builders chose to compare high performance walls that

would take them to Net Zero Ready/Net Zero (~R-35-40)

program levels. Builders also requested information on how

best to address moisture, cladding attachment, window

installation and aesthetics.

All sessions will have time for Q&As.

As homes become more air-tight and efficient, they require

compact, properly sized mechanical systems that meet

homeowner comfort needs.

Local builders have asked to compare new innovations in gas

and electric mechanical systems for high performance homes,

and have requested presentations on the selection and

installation of PV systems for homes aspiring towards Net-Zero

Energy.

All sessions will have time for Q&As.
