2 ARGO COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL • www.argohs.net

The 2019-2020 school year will be a very important year for Argo Community High School as we celebrate our Centennial Anniversary. To recognize the thousands of stu-dents and staff who have made an impact on our school community, we plan to honor the past 100 years of Argo High School tradition, while also looking forward to the next 100 years. Argo will be hosting a yearlong celebration and dedicating each month of the school year to a different decade of our rich history.

To help look 100 years forward, the Centennial committee has partnered with the Argo Higher Education Foundation, a non-profit organization, that provides post-secondary scholarships to Argo graduates. We have set a fundraising goal of $100,000 to help en-sure that we can support our students’ dreams well into the future. This is a mighty goal; however, the Foundation is confident we can reach it. We have tremendously supportive and involved Alumni, community members, and staff who we believe will help us in this effort to support future Argonauts.

The Centennial Celebration officially kicked off on July 28, 2019 with a 5K Race/Walk that crossed through several of the towns that make up the Argo community, starting at Argo High School and finishing at SeatGeek Stadium. Mayor Brady of Bedford Park worked with Mayor Landek of Bridgeview, Mayor Rodriguez of Summit, Mayor Wasowicz of Justice, Mayor Howley of Hickory Hills, and Mayor Carpino of Willow Springs to garner sup-port for and coordination of the details of this fun Centennial Celebration event. The Argo High School communi-ty thanks them for their dedication and support.

We also plan to involve all future Argonauts who currently attend Districts 104, 108, and 109. We want them to know about the tremendous history of this community and the pride shared by all Argonauts. While we are celebrating the past, we are also empowering the future generations of Argo Community High School.

To end the 100 Year Anniversary we are planning an epic Gala Event on June 6, 2020. We would love to see Argo Alumni and community members on campus to celebrate with us throughout the year. More details about all the Centennial events can be found on our website at www.argohs.net.

With Argo Pride,Dr. Jill Kingsfield

As a tribute to Argo Community High School’s 100 Year Anniversary, the Art De-partment has launched the Legacy Mural project. Students, staff, and community members are spending hours of creative energy creating this beautiful mosaic which will hang in the hallways of Argo. Each year an additional mosaic panel will be created, adding to the rich tradition of our school community. Pictured here is the Argo-Summit, Bedford Park Women’s Club who donated their time this summer to add their community member touch to the legacy mural.
