From 1912 to 1983 (70 years)• 9 democratic gov, only 3 managed to finish their terms• 6 coups (and we are not counting the coups that were
unsuccessful…)• We had an army government for 29 years
Army did terrible things
Eventually society got tired and demanded CHANGES…
30,000 people were kidnapped, tortured and killed

We have had Democracy for 30 years…
…but politicians still use the tactic of referring to the opposition as “coup gorillas” (even when we do not have ‘gorillas’ anymore)

goverment has done
