  • Buenos Aires, the historical colonial square

  • Buenos Aires, the presidential palace

  • Buenos Aires, Tango shows in the alley

  • Patagonia, the Glaciers National Park

  • Hey, anybody cares for Argentinean Scotch on the rocks or maybe no ice, please?

  • Patagonia, the Bariloche area. The landscape here resembles Europe Alps lake country.

  • The small city of Bariloche, on the lake : Town hall and community center. The architecture here resembles that of the Europe Alps as much as the landscape do, supposedly affected by the background of immigrants that chose the place to be their new home.

As it is known today, Bariloche became a refuge to a community of Nazi war criminals escaping Europe at the end of World War II. (Some of the most senior ones landed on the shores of Patagonia by an organized convoy of German submarines.) They were supported explicitly and actively by the president, Juan Pern.

  • In this Bariloche town hall, the notorious Dr. Josef Mengele of the Auschwitz extermination camp had his 2 tests for a driving license. The tester who recognized him at the time is retired today.

  • The Bariloche area, on the lake, the village of Villa La Angostura.

  • In this house, Isabel Pern the 3rd wife of Juan Pern who became Argentinas president upon his death lived in captivity after a military coup.

By the location of this house, it may be one of the two sites in the Bariloche area that were prepared at the time as refuge for Adolf Hitler himself!
