Objective 1.1: Increase knowledge and awareness of retirement planning, aging and caregiving issues targeted to Human Resources and

Employee Assistance Programs in corporations.

ACTION STEPS STATUS REPORT

A. Create a “Planning for Retirement” page on the Agency’s

website to use as an electronic resource for HRs and EAPs

to be completed by March 2018.

B. Begin identifying corporate Human Resource and

Employee Assistance Programs, which are interested in

receiving information and resources on retirement, aging

and caregiving and determine what materials are needed

by April 2018.

C. Participate in SHRM (Society of Human Resource

Management) activities and conferences.

D. Evaluate the efficacy of disseminated information by

tracking hits on web-site, requests for presentations, and

survey responses on an annual basis.

services offered by the Area Agency, and encourage advanced planning.

A. Build and strengthen the Agency’s brand and define

program offerings across diverse markets, audiences and

caregivers on an ongoing basis.

B. Build community awareness of programs and

services through content rich regularly scheduled

eblasts, website, social media, direct mail, news

releases, and print and broadcast media on an ongoing

basis.

C. Promote the Agency’s programs and services by

participating in health fairs and community education

forums, and respond to requests for speakers on an

C. Choose 3 sites (west, central, east) to pilot expanded

services as satellite offices by June 2018 for

implementation in September 2018.

D. Provide service delivery advocacy for vulnerable

population through the use of organizations such as

MAG, Open Door Training Solution, and various other

A. Join local advocacy group (LGBTQ consortium) to stay

informed and develop targeted programming for

LGBTQ older adults by November 2017.

B. Conduct a targeted needs assessment to special

populations including holocaust survivors, underserved

ethnic minorities, and homeless older adults with

particular attention to Justa Center, Indian Seniors

Association of Arizona and Arizona Asian American

Seniors by March 2018.

C. Educate Agency staff on the unique needs of

underserved populations based on the needs assessment

by July 2018.

D. Develop new programs and implement existing services

based upon the targets needs assessment beginning in

September 2018.

A. Identify the need for grocery shopping services for

Agency clients and explore delivery programs currently

available throughout the county by December 2017.

B. Develop a consolidated report on how to access the

current services, identify the barriers, and conduct a

comprehensive comparison of the features available in

each program by February 2018.

C. Foster relationships with shopping programs and work

on eliminating the barriers while expanding the features

and ease of access for the elderly population beginning

in July 2018.

D. Pilot an alternative grocery shopping program for older

adults by July 2018 and test the efficacy by July 2019.

C. Enhance recruitment of volunteers in support of the

Agency’s two AmeriCorps programs by October 2018.

C. Identify targeted community groups, determine potential

locations, develop a preliminary marketing plan by

March 2018, and explore methods for informing the

community of scheduled legal clinics and presentations

on an ongoing basis.

Create a Calendar of Legal Assistance Events by April

2018, to be updated monthly, and conduct at least one

legal educational seminar or legal clinic for older adults

and/or attorneys each quarter until December 2021.

September 2018.

C. Post on the Agency’s website and social media fraud

and scam alerts on an ongoing basis.

C. Participate with other organizations who advocate on

behalf of older adult issues such as n4a, AZ4A, and the

Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging on an ongoing

basis.
