Cholesterol is a fat like substance made by the body that helps with: cell regeneration, parts of skin tissue, transports essential fatty acids and helps produce hormones
What is Cholesterol? Produced by the body and is a fat-like substances
HDL: good cholesterol (which can be remembered with “H” which stands for healthy )
LDL: bad cholesterol (which can be remembered with “L” which stands for “loser”)
It gets it from animal tissues (chicken, beef, pork), milk products and egg yolk
High levels of LDL is related to heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity
Food of plant origin like FRUITS, VEGETABLES, GRAINS and LEGUMES have no cholesterol
