Ardrox2320Immersion/spray paint remover
Scope
ARDROX 2320 is a di-phase aqueous blend of solvent, activators and corrosion inhibitor.
ARDROX 2320 will remove a variety of organic finishes.
Chemicals required
ARDROX 2320A
ARDROX 2320B
Method of use
Half fill the stripping tank with demineralised water. Add 10% v/v, of the operating volume,ARDROX 2320A. Add 5% v/v of ARDROX 2320B. Thoroughly agitate. Fill the tank to its operating levelwith demineralised water and thoroughly agitate the contents of tank.
Immersion
Components to be stripped are immersed in the bath for periods generally up to 4 hours at temperaturesfrom ambient to 55C depending on the nature of the coating. The bath should be agitated while the
components are in the tank. The components are then pressure water rinsed.
Spray
Components should be left in the spray machine for periods generally up to one hour at temperatures ofambient to 55C. If possible a two-stage spray machine should be used so the components can be waterrinsed within the spray machine. If this is not possible the components should be pressure rinsed outsidethe cabinet.
Dry the components thoroughly using compressed air or an air recirculation oven at 60 - 80C.
NOTE Ardrox 2320 can be used at higher temperatures on non-critical components that are notsusceptible to hydrogen embrittlement.
Method of control
The pH of the water phase (top phase) of the bath should be maintained within the range 12.-12.5. Toraise the pH of the bath add ARDROX 2320B in measured increments until within the desired range.
The lower phase of the bath (ARDROX 2320A) should be maintained within the range 5-15% v/v. Thismay be measured by taking a representative sample of the tank contents, placing in a measuringcylinder and allow to stand. If the lower separated phase is below the desired range add ARDROX2320A, if above the range add demineralised water.
Any water added to the tank to correct for evaporation should be demineralised water.
