Andrea & Joshua Wolf ANDREA WOLF ALWAYS KNEW SHE WANTED A FALL wedding, decorated with pumpkins and leaves and splashes of oranges, gold, silver, cream, and pink colors. “I love vintage and time periods and wanted our wedding to reflect a 1920s and 1930s feel,” says Andrea. “Most importantly, we [Joshua and I] wanted to be able to invite everyone close to us and important in our lives.” Andrea developed a crush on Joshua when they were co-workers. When the two discovered they lived on the same block, they started running together in their neighborhood. “Never had either one of us been so dedicated to running,” say Andrea who admits that they would run together despite rain, snow, and chilling temperatures. “Finally he asked me on a date.” Their first date was to the Banff Film festival at The McDonald Theater, which they now attend every year. Joshua asked Andrea to marry him in late May 2010 by writing “Will you marry me?” with rocks he had collected. Shortly after the engagement, the couple began planning. “We were 35 and 37 when we got married,” says Andrea. “We had been to so many weddings and been in many weddings. We had a lot of ideas of what we wanted and what we didn’t want.” Finding a venue at a reasonable price and a venue that would allow outside catering was a challenge but not impossible. The couple selected Territorial Vineyards in Eugene’s Whiteaker district. “Territorial was perfect for what we had in mind. The ceremony and reception all took place in the same space,” says Andrea whose guests enjoyed music and beverages before the ceremony. “It was wonderful to have our guests mingle and get in the party mood prior to the ceremony and the mood just carried right over to the reception.” PHOTOS BY WENDY ARDOLINO Eugene Weddings 2012 31

once the couple returned from signing the marriage certificate, they immediately had their first dance as a married couple so guests could relax and enjoy the rest of the celebration. the couple’s artist friends, Jamey herman and hollie Putnam, made a six-foot round, glittery moon to display over the dance floor.

the couple’s close friend tony Gilchriest, a singer/songwriter based in los Angeles, provided the ceremony music. Gilchriest played solo acoustic guitar originals as the parents and the bridal party entered. Andrea’s bridesmaid, teresa, sang a song from The Wizard of Oz a cappella. “our ceremony was a mixture of traditional and eclectic,” says Andrea. once the couple was announced husband and wife, they exited to the Jayhawks “I’m Gonna Make you love Me.”

for the wedding dress, Andrea wanted a vintage

style dress. forgetting to wear a white faux wrap that her mother gave her was Andrea’s one regret. “All in all,” Andrea says, “that’s pretty good for a wedding!” luckily, the couple’s wedding photographer was able to capture the shawl in a few pictures after the ceremony. for her hair, Andrea wanted a finger waves hairstyle and states that kelly loughary at Panache did “an amazing job.” Andrea did her own makeup and one of her bridesmaids added sparkly silver eye shadow for a final touch. “Anyone that knows me knows I love glitter,” says Andrea who also wore multi-colored glitter shoes by Madden Girl.

from the decorations to the food, all aspects of the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch and the wedding was everything Andrea imagined. “It was truly the best dance party and celebration.”
