Everyone enters the world with potential. Our experiences develop our abilities
and shape our expectations, which in turn colour our perceptions of the world in
which we live. When individuals are empowered to have control over lived
experiences, they build their own resilience and in turn contribute positively to
collective wellbeing and an inclusive community. (Wellbeing Framework 2015)
Developing and fostering wellbeing is the ultimate deliverable that comes with
the privilege of working with our children at Ardlethan Central School. Each day
at school we work toward this goal. We know and value each and every student,
we make connections with the students, we encourage and support them to
achieve and we watch them grow and thrive. Our PBL school values developed in
conjunction with the whole school community underpin our actions.

Sport Update
Athletics Carnival
Despite a pretty ordinary day weather-wise, last Friday saw ACS conduct our annual Athletics Carnival. Some great competition and sportsmanship were the highlights of the day with students cheering each other on in a number of events. Several records even came close to being broken.
I would like to thank everyone who made the day such a special event, especially the staff who continue to show their skills and knowledge at these carnivals. A special mention to Paul Bray and some of the older students who did such a great job marking out the track. Of course, the success of Friday could not have been possible without the help of parents and helpers, serving in the canteen, timekeeping and recording and people who came just to cheer on their family members. The students and I very much appreciate your contributions.
The Zone Carnivals are a couple of weeks away, Secondary on Friday of week 9 and Primary on Wednesday of week 10 this term, both in Barellan. I hope to have details of who has qualified for both these carnivals ASAP.
Thursday, the 14th, sees the Primary Riverina Cross Country and Friday, June 15th is the day for the Secondary Riverina Cross Country, both in Gundagai. Good luck to those students running in these two big carnivals.

PSSA Netball Knockout
Last Tuesday we travelled to Coolamon to play our second round netball game against Coolamon Central School in the PSSA Netball Knockout; we had a bye the first round. Our team consists of girls from Ardlethan CS, Ariah Park CS, Barellan CS, Matong PS and Ganmain PS. Jo Bray was representing Ardlethan Central School. The girls played a fast and strong game taking an early lead in the first and second quarters. The Coolamon team combined extremely well in the second half working their way back into the game. In the final quarter our team had to make sure they stayed focused and that they valued possession; in a nail biter we were able to hang on and win the game by just one goal. Jo played a terrific game showing her versatility playing in both attack and defence. Her accurate shooting helped the team take an early lead and then her work in defence ensured we held our lead. Congratulations to Jo and the rest of the team on a great game where they showed great skills and great sportsmanship. We now progress to the next round and look forward to getting out on the court again. Kerrilee Logan
