Arcis Wealth Management

Arcis Wealth Management is a comprehensive, independent, objective financial advisory and investment consulting firm. Arcis is built on the pillars of fiduciary duty, meaning the client comes first. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity in all that we do. By following these principles we hope to foster mutually satisfying, long-term relationships.

Fiduciary

Arcis acts as a fiduciary to its clients’ portfolios in all three of our core practice areas–Employee Sponsored Retirement Plans, Foundations & Endowments, and Private Wealth Management.

Independence

As an independent firm, Arcis is free to explore all available options in order to select and provide the best solutions for clients without biases or conflicts of interest. Arcis is committed to the success of its clients and decisions are made exclusively based on merit and consistency with client’s overall strategy.

Transparency

Fees are based on a percentage of assets we manage for our clients and are not based on the use of one investment option over another.

Accountability

At the heart of our advice is an engagement model that provides each client with the same high standard of care, service, support and execution. Our goal is to make every effort to ensure that we deliver upon the principles we hold and the impact we hope to achieve.

In Latin, Arcis means “Stronghold”

Creating a successful investment strategy can be similar to playing chess. Choices made in the near-term can often have lasting effects that change the game over the long-run.

Open Communication

Clear and understandable communication with our clients is the fundamental core principle that Arcis Wealth Management was built upon. As fiduciaries, we are legally bound to serve our clients interests before our own. This fact enables our clients to speak freely regarding their investment goals and ask questions without hesitation. Our consultants take the time to discuss addressing concerns clients have and ensure a comfortable level understanding before moving forward.

Experienced Staff

Our consultants possess extensive investment experience from some of the leading firms in financial services. They all share the view that learning and education is an on-going process that never stops. The majority of our consultants have acquired or are working toward multiple advanced degrees and industry-recognized certifications simply because they passionate about investing, Each one of them brings that same passion into the relationships they build with our clients.

When planning each move you must consider the immediate outcomes of your choice, carefully weighing it with several possible outcomes. You need to consider how your plan will be affected down the line, or you may quickly find yourself at the mercy of your opponent.

Building a partnership

When you choose to be a client of Arcis Wealth Management, you aren’t just a number. We practice teamwork on a daily basis, and believe that cooperation leads to the best chance for successful outcomes.

“At Arcis Wealth Management, we take a very practical approach to investing with our clients from the beginning.”

Our Approach

Financial Planning and Strategy Implementation We work with each of our clients to evaluate all aspects of the financial planning process including, but not limited to:

• Wealth accumulation and distribution

• Estate planning

• Tax-efficient strategies

• Philanthropic initiatives

We develop strategic investment action plans in order to assist each client in reaching their financial goals. Arcis continuously reevaluates these strategies and goals as life situations are sure to grow and change. We can act as the quarterback for our clients while working in tandem with their accountants, attorneys, and other professional advisors to ensure that their plans are executed successfully.

Optimized Portfolio Construction

Building a strong asset allocation model is crucial to meeting each client’s unique investment objectives. We begin our portfolio construction with the Nobel Prize-winning Mean-Variance Optimization process, using our understanding and knowledge to overlay and add value to the optimization process. Using a long-term approach, we build these models to be well-constructed, well-diversified, and to achieve the client’s wealth objectives over time through various market cycles.

Our clients have peace of mind knowing their portfolio is being closely monitored. We provide quick and honest answers should you ever have any questions or concerns about your portfolio with regard to activity in the financial markets,. Investment performance reviews are conducted each quarter, in addition to providing monthly portfolio summary information on activity and performance. We know you don’t have the time to manage your investments, but you can rest assured knowing a qualified expert who is legally obligated to put your interests first, is watching them for you.

Arcis manages each client’s assets on a discretionary basis. We are empowered to make decisions on the daily management of our client’s portfolios within the guidelines of a personalized Investment Policy Statement (“IPS”). This document outlines the detailed scope of each client’s risk tolerance and return objectives. We continually evaluate client portfolios to identify the need to rebalance or make tactical allocations based on market conditions.

Investment Selection

Manager Due Diligence

Arcis incorporates a rigorous quantitative process that helps us differentiate manager skill from luck. We often combine the quantitative process with qualitative factors to make our final decision to add a manager to a portfolio. Our research goes beyond how many Morningstar Stars or Lipper Leaders a fund receives. We deconstruct all aspects of a fund and look at many things including:

How well does a fund track the benchmark, and if the fund deviates from its benchmark does it add value.

How do the funds expenses compare to other similar funds, and does it add value over an inexpensive passively managed ETF or mutual fund.

We often times will look at the qualitative factors of a fund manager before making the final decision to add that fund to a portfolio.

Active versus Passive Management

We believe there is a place for both actively and passively managed funds. Passively managed funds tend to outperform their active counterparts in efficient asset classes, where analysts and fund managers are not able to add value relative to the cost. The opposite can be said for inefficient areas of the market. We analyze the historical ability of active managers to outperform their given benchmark, the current market conditions, and forward looking assumptions in the decision to hire an actively or passively managed fund or a combination for a given asset class. We believe that this flexibility creates stronger portfolios than advisors who implement only passive or active managers.

“Evaluating managers over a full market cycle can offer deeper insight into the story behind the numbers.”
