“Arción has become a reference in the field of construction”

Arción will celebrate its 26th birthday this year 2010, and it will do so by being present in most corners of Spain. During all these years, we have earned the respect from our peers. We are now considered a large company, able to serve the most demanding and successful clients and investors.

Arción was born in 1984 as a company specialized in the restoration and recovery of some of the most emblematical works in Spain’s cultural and historical heritage. Since then, and without forgetting our origins, we have grown and are now the builder of carriageways, railroads, viaducts, hydraulic works and all sort of housing projects.

We are present in some the most important counstructions of this generation, such as the AVE, Spain’s high-speed train. We are at the forefront of our sector with buildings such as the Guadalajara Art School or the Robotized Car Parking in Valencia’s city centre.

Hundreds of professionals work in our company, and they do so within the frame of our socially responsible corporate culture. A corporate culture whose main features are professional ethics, a high degree of respect for the environment and our commitment towards the community where we live and work.

We are concentrated in getting to the future before everyone else. From our start, we have made an effort to constantly update ourselves when it comes to technology and material resources.

Nowadays, that effort has been recognized by international awards that works which Arción undertook have received. Among them, the prestigious Designshare Award for Innovative Schools or the prize that L’Almoina Archeological Museum received as the second best European Museum.

We have erected works that will stay for a very long time in the memory of those who admire them. We want to keep it that way in the future.

“We are noted for our high quality processes”

We realize that, in Arción, we have spent a great deal of our history connecting the dots. Trazing highways and railroads that connect cities, that help move goods and services, create jobs and economic growth. We have spent a lot of time leading projects whose main objective has been to contribute to the development and modernization of Spain and other countries.

Arción undertakes infrastructure works, and it does it thanks to technologies and methodologies designed to fit the current needs of the industry. We are noted for our high quality processes and for being able of perfectly undertaking great public projects.

Thousands of people travel every day by roads that we have built. For instance, the A-1 dual carriageway (in the Manoteras- San Sebastián de los Reyes stretch, in Madrid), the A-42 dual carriageway in the Madrid-Toledo stretch and the A-5 dual carriageway in the Oropesa stretch.

An endless number of passengers travel by trains and railroad stretches which we have created, as the AVE (Spain’s high speed train) that goes from Madrid to Valencia.

All those works are a reminder that, nowadays, the greatest pride a corporation such as Arción can take is, simply, of that of connecting the dots. That of connecting people and cities.

“We are honoured that many cities have entrusted us with their museums, their schools and their hospitals”

For us, building housing projects is more than putting bricks together. For us, it is erecting the homes where tomorrow’s generations will live and dream.

For that reason, committed as we are with the community where we live, we make the effort of working for it with efficiency, determination, quality and a complete respect for its environment.

In late 2009, we were honoured with the Brick Architecture Award for a public housing project in Mocejón, Toledo. A project that was designed by architect Luis Martínez Santamaría. Being considered the best construction company in that category is a great way of starting the decade, isn’t it?

We are honoured that many cities have entrusted us with their museums, their schools and their hospitals. In Valencia, where our corporate offices are located, we were charged with building the L’Almoina Archeological Museum. In Vinaroz, we erected the Forget Public School. In Daimiel, we created its local clinic.

Arción is present in Albacete’s Medical School building, in the Parliament of the Region of Valencia, in Castellón’s Sports City, in the Guadalajara Art School or in Jávea’s Conservatory.

If, in a hundred years old, young music students keep on playing their notes within the walls we erected, our work will have been worthwhile.

“Arción has the knowledge, expertise, and the human and material resources to bring the grandeur back to our common past”

During the first few years of Arción’s history, our core business was the restoration and recovery of Spain’s architectural and cultural heritage.

For decades, our corporation’s main commitment was to restore emblematical buildings for the sake of future generations. We have undertaken important works at such emblematical buildings as the wall of the Castle of Xátiva, the Castle of Petrer, the New Batzán Palance in Madrid, Benicássim’s famous Villa Elisa or L’Almoina Archeological Museum, in Valencia.

Nowadays, we are among the most respected Spanish companies in that specific field.

In 2009, two of our main works were the restoration of San Juan de la Cruz Church and the recovery of San Esteban Protomártir Church, both in Valencia, where our headquarters are located.

Our commitment with the past opens the way to an even more strenghtened future.

“We devote an important part of our resources to the implementation of new technologies, the deployment of efficient planning and management processes and the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery and equipment”

Within our corporation, we devote an important part of our resources to the implementation of new technologies, the deployment of efficient planning and management processes and the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.

The investments we have made in technology have been mainly about acquiring concrete and asphalt agglomerate plants. Moreover, the company owns a lot of machinery in constant renovation. Our facilities are modern and we are focused in mining resources, the making of bituminous mixtures and the production of concrete.

As a company which gives a great deal of importance to its corporate social responsibility, all our work is undertaken with the objective of always reducing our ecological footprint to the minimum. We want to build and help the cities where we work grow, but we insist in combining that task with a great deal of respect for the environment.

We keep on communicating to the societies where we work all our respect for nature. We stand for the planet and we vouch for a sustainable use of resources. We are committed with it and we have a solid policy of research and quality that makes both economic development and environmental equilibrium compatible.

We are constantly thinking about reaching new heights. For that reason, we have developed strong alliances with universities and faculties, we give prizes to the best research projects in our field and we have R+D programmes.

Business Integrity:We look after our people

Arción’s success would not have been posible without the hundreds of people that work in our company. They are professionals who, day by day, show how talented the are and how they are committed to our common objectives of growth.

From its start, Arción has taken responsibility for bringing up its people and helping them grow professionally, too. Every single employee pays attention to even the smallest details and their expertise is the main key to our success.

The corporation’s professional team, as well as newest workers, are always taken care of. They are invited to join training programmes and we make sure that they are sufficiently prepared as to undertake their duties properly.

We look after our people. We know that knowledge is an endless source of competitive advantages and the engine that generates wealth in a country like ours.

We do take pride in investing in our people as much as we can. It could be no other way.
