Archiving GroupWise Mail

Setup Archive Directory

Click TOOLS Menu

Click Options

Setup Archive Directory

Click on the Environment Icon

Click on File Location Tab

Enter Archive Location.

Please Do not save Archived E-mail to P:\ Drive or MyFiles Directory. Please Save it to the local C:\ Drive: A good location will be “ c:\email-archive “.

Setup Archive Directory

Click YES to create the new Archive Directory.

Moving Messages to Archive

Right Click on a Single Message or Multiple Messages and Click “Move to Archive.

WARNING: Moving Mail to a local archive will remove your mail from the GroupWise server at ITSS. This means archived mail may ONLY be accessed on your local computer. Please make backups of this folder. If your computer crashes you will lose your archive folder!

Accessing Archived Mail

Click on the Online Tab. Click Archive.

To Go back to GroupWise mail. Click Online tab and click your name at the top of the list.

Notice: You are currently located in the Archive.

Your ArchivedMail.

Note: The location of your archive mail will reflect where you archived from. If you archive mail from your cabinet, your archive mail will be in your cabinet. If you archive “sent mail” then it will show up in the archive under the sent mail folder.

Moving Mail Back to GroupWise

You can move mail back to the GroupWise Server.

Right Click onthe message ormessagesand uncheckMove to Archive.

This will tell you how much space you are using on the GroupWise Server. This must be less than 100% in order to Send Email.
