Phasing Development

In order to help faciliate these changes into a small town we introduced the idea of phasing. This allows for the hospital to begin getting deconstructed into a nursing home, diagnosticsandambulatorycare. Since some people will be displacedduetotheprocess, bycarefullyintegratingthehousinginto the correct stages, the transition into new afforadable housing is seamless.

Menu Options

A critical idea to make a wellness campusprototypethatcanaccomdateeachtown’sspecificneeds is a menu of facilities and services.Eachtowntypicallyneedsprogrammingfromeachcategorybutmaynotallneedmoregrocerystoresoranewdaycare.Plugginginthese options allows the residents to customize the wellness campus.

I had never realized how similar in function museums all were. Whiletheyallvaryincollection, sizeandlocationtheonething that did not seem to differ was how museums were run. Administration, curators, trust, archive, deliveryandservicearealwayshiddenandunabletobeaccessed.Mygoalforthisproject was to challenge how we see museums and breakdown the traditional model that allows the public to experience this private side.
