SPATIAL DEFINING/STRUCTURAL AESTHETIC/PERCEPTIVEDESIGN PROMPT:-EXPLORE THE IDEA OF “FUNCTIONLESS” AND HOW IT CAN BE APPLIED IN A DESIGN ASPECT.-WHILE LEARNING MAYA SOFTWARE, EMPLOY TECHNIQUES AND OPERATIONS TO CONCIEVE A DESIGN THAT DEFINES WHAT IT MEANS FOR SOMETHING TO BECOME FUNCTIONLESS.
XATELIER “FUNCTIONLESS” WORKSHOP
CONCEPT:-IN ORDER TO BECOME FUNCTIONLESS, A FUNCTION MUST BE AGGREGATED AND DEFORMED UNTIL THE ORIGINAL OPERATION IS NO LONGER APPARENT.-EXPLORE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF LIGHT, UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT QUALITIES THAT LIGHT CAN PRODUCE.-MERGE THE TWO MAIN QUALITIES OF LIGHT, SPATIAL DEFINING AND AESTHEICS, INTO A SINGLE, COHESIVE DESIGN THAT COULD BE IMPLEMENTED INTO A REAL WORLD ARCHITECTURAL INSTALLATION.

PARTICLE SYSTEM-SERIES OF PARTICLE EMITTERS THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO/INTERACT WITH ANY SPACE-THE RADIATED LINES BECOME THE RIGID/STRUCTURAL CONNECTIONS CONNECTIONS-AESTHETIC/LOOSE CONNECTIONS INHABIT THE SPACE BETWEEN-SIZE AND CURVATURE OF THE TUBES IS BASED ON THE SPANNING DISTANCE-CONNECTION NODES RANGE IN VARIETY BASED ON SIZE AND INTENSITY OF TUBES.

CONCEPT:-ESTABLISH A MODULAR SYSTEM OF MEMBERS THAT ARE DERIVED FROM THE SAME GEOMETRIC LANGUAGE, BUT CAN BE MANIPULATED TO CREATE DIFFERENT QUALITIES OF SPACE, AND SERVE REQUIRED FUNCTIONS.-CREATE A CONTINUOUS LOOP OF CIRCULATION IN ORDER FOR THE MODELS TO HAVE SEAMLESS MOVEMENT BETWEEN WARDROBE CHANGES; ENHANCE THE AUDIENCE VIEWING EXPIERENCE BY CREATING MOMENTS OF ANTICIPATION, EXCITMENT, AND SUSPENSE.-ENGAGE WITH THE EXTERIOR BY USING THE INTERIOR CIRCULATION TO INTERUPT THE EXISTING EXTERIOR PATHWAY.

ELEVATED SEATING AREA FOR SELECT GUESTS ALLOWS FOR CLOSE INTERACTION WITH THE MODELS, BUT ALSO GIVES LONG VIEWS TO
MODELS MOVING ON FURTHER PARTS OF THE RUNWAY.
THE MODELS PROCESSION ON THE RUNWAY GOES THROUGH A SERIES OF DYNAMIC
MOMENTS THAT PROVIDE THE AUDIENCE AND INDIVIDUALS ON THE EXTERIOR AN
ECOMPASSING VIEW OF THE FASHION COLLECTION.
DESIGN PROMPT:-CREATE A RENDITION FOR A NEW PIER DESIGN FOR VENICE BEACH IN LOS ANGELES. -DESIGNS SHOULD EXPLORE THE ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SOLIDS, SURFACES, AND LINES, AND INCORPORATE ALL THREE INTO A COHESIVE CONCEPT.

CONCEPT: -USE ONLY A SINGLE GEOMETRIC PIECE, BREAK DOWN TO IT’S ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS, AND AGGREGATE INTO AN AVANT GARDE ARRANGEMENT -STARTING WITH A RECTANGULAR BOX AS THE SOLID MEMBER, UNROLLING THE BOX TO CREATE SURFACES, AND USING THE WIREFRAME OF THE BOX AS LINES.-EMPLOY THE THREE VARIANTS INTO A SINGLE DESIGN THAT CREATES A TRADITIONAL PIER EXPIERENCE, AS WELL AS MORE INTIMATE AND ENGAGING EXPIERENCE

DESIGN PROMPT:-DESIGN A RENOVATION OF AN EXISTING HOME WITHIN THE MAR VISTA TRACT PROJECT DESIGNED BY GREGORY AIN IN 1947. -INVESTIGATE NEW IDEAS OF RESIDENTIAL DESIGN, WHILE STILL MAINTAINING THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

CONCEPT:-LEAVE THE BUILDING FACADES FACING THE STREET UNTOUCHED TO RESPECT THE HISTORICAL RELEVANCE, BUT COMPLETELY REDESIGN THE INTERIOR AND BACKYARD SPACES.-TRANSFORM THE INTERIOR INTO A KIND OF FOREST WITH A SERIES OF VERTICAL COLUMNS (TREE TRUNKS), HORIZONTAL SUPPORTS (BRANCHES), AND SLIDING SCREEN WALLS (LEAVES). -INTRODUCE A SKYLIGHT SYSTEM THAT RESPONDS TO THE QUALITY OF LIGHT DESIRED FOR THE SPACE BELOW; SKYLIGHTS CHANGE IN HEIGHT, DIRECTIONALITY, AND AMOUNT OF GLASS
