NATANational Aptitude Test in Architecture

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture

(NATA) measures the aptitude o the

applicant or specic eld o study,

i.e. Architecture. The test measuresdrawing and observation skills, sense

o proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and

critical thinking ability, that have beenacquired over a long period o time, and

that are related to specic eld o study,

i.e. Architecture.

Any person having passed SSC (Std X) or equivalent

examination can appear or NATA, however,

candidates having minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or

equivalent examination with mathematics as oneo the subject, only are eligible or admission to

B.Arch. Course.

The test is in two parts. A paper

based drawing testand computer

based online aesthetic sensitivity test.The test measures aptitude o the

candidate through two sections - a

paper based section or drawing andcomputer based section or aesthetic

This is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three

questions. The drawing aptitude is judged on the ollowing aspects -

Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the

same in visually appealing manner.

Visualising and drawing the efects o light on the object andshadows cast on surroundings.

Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to

orm a building or structural orm.

multiple choice questions.

The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination and

observation, creativity and communication along with architectural

awareness and comprises o -Visualising three dimensional objects rom two dimensional

drawings.

YEAR OF PASSING QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam

or any other qualiying examination in 2011 or 2012; or those who

are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any other qualiying

examination in 2013 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2013.

Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualiying examination in 2010 orbeore as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2014 or

later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2013.

Candidates who appeared in class 12th/other Qualiying Examinations

in 2010, did not pass in 2010, but passed in 2011 are also not eligible to

appear in JEE (Main) 2013.Candidates must have taken at least ve subjects in class 12th/any

other Qualiying examination in order to be eligible or writing JEE

(Main). In the year 2013 however, the candidates who have taken our

subjects are also permitted to write JEE 2013 as an exception.
