Systems Assurance PTF
• Highlights from this Meeting:
– SMM Update
• Standardization waiting on work that needs to be completed by A. Picard – targeting August 15, 2010
– KDM Interoperability Planning Session
• Structure of demonstration will involve role playing and include stakeholder, analyst and consultant
• KDM Analytics, Benchmark Consulting, Mia-Software, Micro Focus (?), Adaptive and possibly Sparx and No Magic
• Effort will involve a COBOL CICS / Java system and UML input and output
• Nick Mansurov will act as prime coordinator of the effort
• Session to be held in Cambridge, MA – Sept. (2 hour session) 1

• Highlights from this Meeting:– Structured Metrics Repository (SMR) RFC Planning Session
• ADM TF will create RFC of various metrics to be approved by AB
– Effort headed up by Bill Curtis
– Email list to be created (Ulrich) and joined for PRM
– RFC will NOT include any specific metrics
– RFC will include sample metrics as were used in SMM
– RFC will include repository structure and governance model
– SMR will be implemented instance of SMM
• Metrics governance
– There will be 2-tiered repository (submitted and approved)
– First round of metrics will encompass software quality and systems assurance – coordinated effort by CISQ and ADM TF for SQ and SA
– Once standard is adopted, FTF and RTF work will include cross-domain participants to begin including various families of metrics
– FTF / RTF will resolve conflicts -
– Metrics will undergo 1-year posting cycle, initiated through relevant task force or SIG
• RFC will be reviewed in Boston (Sept.) targeting Santa Clara (Dec.) for issuance 2

– Pattern Recognition Metamodel (PRM) RFC Discussion
• Reviewed RFC (posted as document # ADMTF_2010-03-03)
• Agreed to have Cast change to RFC working with KDM Analytics
– Djenana will provide input on this to Bill Curtis
• Email list to be created (Ulrich)
• Should be generic and look at any patterns – not just code patterns
• Source of patterns would be any MOF model
• May possibly need extensions to address non-code patterns
• Relationship to CWE Standard from Systems Assurance is that CWE is non-machine-readable patter library and PRM is machine readable
• Will review RFC in Boston, targeting Santa Clara for issuance

• Highlights from this Meeting:
– Discussions related to Threat Risk Assessment as our next area of focus
• Slides on Hazard Analysis were presented
• Draft RFI was reviewed
• Decision was made to revise RFI
– Title of RFI: Risk Assessment
– Objective: collect information on Risk Assessment models, artifacts, processes and vocabulary to be used as input to upcoming Risk Assessment Metamodel RFP
– Discussion on Assurance Case Templates/Patterns and Process of writing ACs
• Process of creating Dependability Assurance Case was presented
• Decision was made that we will proceed with white paper on the subject in hope to encourage people/organizations to join/submit domain specific assurance case models that would be turned into AC patterns 5
