born in novara in 1980. after a classical education at high school got graduated in architecture at the politecnico di milano in 2006. i spent my first year of specialization at CVUT in prague, and two months at CUJAE in the havana to develop the bachelor’s final project in urban planning and architecture.

in 2005 started working in a graphic design and fashion photography studio, lo studio, and after an experience in an architecture, design, art and fashion gallery, anthologie quartett, set in hannover, worked in outfitting of public spaces at digit studio. met barreca&lavarra in 2008 and since then I am senior architect and develop medium and big scale projects including residential, corporate, contract interior and furniture design up to landscape design.

i try to keep an eye on my personal vision of architecture developing private assignment with a variety of works like renovation of private villas, retail and store design, residential buildings and corporate with dfp architetti. i spend my spare time reading, travelling and trying to represent reality with pictures, paintings and drawings.

B5 building is part of a sector under construction , destined to the headquarters of a major Italian publishing house, Rizzoli Corriere della Sera Mediagroup, which relocated its offices in an area north-east of Milan. The building façade have the primary purpose to provide an element of continuity with the surrounding buildings. The entire building is covered with silk-screened glass plates and additional vertical glass cornices.

Pilot Paradigm Shift is a pilot project that experiments a new office concept applying new modes of interpersonal relationship between the employee and the workplace. The suggestion on which we have worked comes from our client specific needs: a non-territorial office where the relationship between user and workstation responds to a modern and dynamic conception of the working space.

A hybrid space made of open work spaces, common rooms and shared services. The work moves through space. Following this concept paths, work spaces, meeting rooms, service areas, recreational and socialization are defined in their own function and identity but at the same time are integrated together within an articulated open space.

The modern office should be a reassuring “area of work and representation” that makes employees feel involved in the corporate plan, and at the same time it should be a welcoming environment for customers, consultants and visitors. We have turned a few functional elements into representational and characterization devices representing and characterizing the spaces and thus, implicitly, the company itself.

We considered three essential factors which together contribute synergistically to create a place: efficiency, flexibility and quality. So we avoided to create a disparity between workspaces because no one of them is more important than the other, but they are all included in a composite space where it is visible a systematic succession of functions instead of a strict hierarchy in which the individual parts are boxed.

The need to design a space without a precise connotation, the aim of giving a definition to a container of multiple events have have led to precise design choices. The limit of a tangible floor swells through the optical effect given by the glossy resin, the portals of light, replicated on the mirrors, extend the physical limits of space, giving to the visitor the impression of seeing just a part of a bigger space.

The project concerns of a renovation of commercial space on two levels located close to the Brera district. Client is the Lomography srl, a company that produces analogue cameras based in Vienna, which, after opening offices in major capitals of the world, inaugurated in Milan its italian flagship store.

The Shopping Center is one of the first shopping malls built in Italy in 1974. Since 2001, through a series of subsequent interventions, the mall has changed its appearance. The aim of the project is to maximize the presence of the parking lot that becomes a landmark overlooking one of the most important streets in the northern Milan. On this commercial road, logos and banners create an ever changing street front.

Bosco Verticale is a project for metropolitan reforestation that contributes to the regeneration of environment and urban biodiversity without the implication of expanding the city upon the territory. This model of vertical densification ofnature within the city , currently under construction in the Garibaldi Repubblica area in Milan, will host an hectare of forest and the equivalent of an area of single family dwellings of nearly 50.000 sqm.

The 180,000 sq. meters master plan for the new Siemens headquarters in Milan, in its first phase includes 80,000 sq. meters of offices and services, and a 30,000 sq. meters public park. The proposal is based on a system of four courtyards arranged along an east-west axis. A solid three-story basement is interrupted by a series of towers and vertical elements of different heights.

The unfavourable conditions of the plot, stretched without exterior facing, combined with the landlord’s requests to create independent hou-sing units, were the stimulus to find a design solution that could interpret and solve these premises. The design strategy is based on simple elements.Building on the edges, treated in different ways depending on the front, the alternation of solids and voids, in order to give privacy.

The project replaces an existing building for car repair shop with a three storeys building that is generated by an alternation of solids and voids that allows new housing units to look out exclusively on private patios. The access of individual flats is directly from the patios, distributed by a common walkway, illuminated by natural light coming from voids located between the units.

Promoted by MM this conceptual project carried out for the 2015 EXPO involves different scales of intervention, starting from a urban scale masterplan, passing through the design of individual architectural artifacts up to the design of urban furniture and public services. The real connecting infrastructure is the water: an artificial canal and a cycling lane will link the historical city center to the international fair area.

Italian living culture is a masterplan marked by two fundamental elements. The first one is a strong integration with the landscape that respects the main characteristic of the place favouring the geometry of the ground and using the existing access system. The second is given by the variable density of the urban settlement, thath rarifies from the city center, built on flat ground, to the urban villas up on the surrounding hills.

The theme of the isolated building on a plot has characterized entire urban parts of Milan, expecially during the 50s and the 60s. More than other zones, this neighborhood saw the development of this typology, with achievements of remarkable caliber which still today represent a model of great interest. The intervention is a fragment of a past time which comes back, updated to contemporary needs and standards.

The intent is to bring together some key clinical activities institutions around a single common services centre, in close contact with research and teaching activities.

This redevelopment project, following one the first request of the client, provides an important and integral improvement of the energy performance of the existing building to achieve the “A” energy class. Starting from this objective we designed a new facade that wraps the whole building and adapts its shape to the internal rooms modules and works either as a sunscreen and a strong architectural distinctive element.

If we were to imagine a system of places for once again interacting with nature, with freedom, familiarity, confidence, ease and without going along the pre-packaged road of farm holidays, without falling into the trap of environmental theme parks, without lining up among the shelves full of goods in a shopping mall, the prime candidate for taking on this role is the Po river.

The central green axis ensures environmental continuity to the existing plant system on the area, and through the planting of new trees, tries to build a small dense and continuous network of green spaces, meadows, hedges and trees. The project proposes a structured treatment of the living blocks that are meant to be a collective space, inhabited by community residents, both domestic and public.
