AR9LSi Crossover Repair for systems with PCB Crossovers I recently acquired a pair of AR9LSi and began a refurbishment, including caps. After removing all the drivers from the cabinets, I discovered a printed circuit card crossover I have never seen before in an AR speaker . More importantly, I determined the capacitors I wanted to replace are located UNDER the circuit card, glued in place to the r ear of the cabinet. I had to do some research to determine what to cut and where to wire the new ones. This guide details my research used to replace the capacitors in my AR9LSi. My approach was to remove a single lead from each of the old caps rather than try to remove the circuit card to remove the caps. I felt this was less risky and would be less disruptive of the current configuration. This documentat ion helped me work through the process while avoiding mistak es. AR9LSi Crossover Repair

for systems with PCB CrossoversI recently acquired a pair of AR9LSi and began arefurbishment, including caps.

After removing all the drivers from the cabinets, I

discovered a printed circuit card crossover I have

never seen before in an AR speaker. More

importantly, I determined the capacitors I wanted to

replace are located UNDER the circuit card, glued inplace to the rear of the cabinet. I had to do some

research to determine what to cut and where to

wire the new ones.

This guide details my research used to replace the

capacitors in my AR9LSi. My approach was to

remove a single lead from each of the old capsrather than try to remove the circuit card to remove

the caps. I felt this was less risky and would be less

disruptive of the current configuration. This

documentation helped me work through the

process while avoiding mistakes.

Each cap lead is available by the edge

of the circuit card. See the lead location

pointers on right.

Mirror image above showing leadand a cap. The goal is to separate the cap

from the solder pad by clipping the

cap lead.

Carefully cut lead pulling it away from

solder pad and all other circuitry. You

will have 8 cuts total for the 8 caps.
