• Fish has always been an important item in the Filipino diet and is considered the cheapest source of protein.• At present, the culture of fish is still an expanding industry in the country; it is grown in fresh water ponds and reservoirs throughout the country.• Fish culture is an economic business activity.

Fish Capture

• In villages, fish capture is done with the use of fishing nets. The traditional and simple method of fish capture is the use of a fishing rod which consists of a hook tied to a string connected to a wooden bamboo or pole.

Ways on Making a Net

• There are two ways of making a net: - Weaving by hand and the other is weaving by machine.• Both uses the same principle of making as many meshes as desired in terms of length or depth.
