The institution evaluates the teachers on their teaching and research performance
based on their Self Appraisal Reports (SAR)/ Personal Appraisal Reports (PAR) as
given by DAVCMC and DPI submitted every year. This evaluation based on SARs/
PARs helps in ensuring academic accountability of teachers and monitoring their
major/minor research projects and other academic activities. The Principal sends
commendation to the teachers who have done well so as to motivate them in
teaching, research, and extension programmes with renewed zeal.
The performance of the non-teaching staff is appraised by the college based on the
reports of the Supervising Officers and finally assessed by the Principal.
The performance of the Library Staff is evaluated by the Librarian.
The working of the Lab Attendant is regularly monitored by the respective HODs.
Separate meetings of temporary/adhoc/contractual staff along with their HODs are
held to assess, improve & appreciate their working.
Corrective measures suggested by HODs of each department are shared with other
staff members.
Feedback Performa regarding the service of non-teaching staff obtained by the
Principal is shared and discussed with senior faculty members. The visitors &
students are also informally consulted through office-superintendent. However, the
extra-ordinary workers are appreciated in the quarterly meetings. The lapses, if any,
are conveyed to the individuals.
Departmental staff meetings deal with issues relating to teaching-learning process.
The problems of the students are taken up by the HODs and corrective measures are
discussed to solve them.

The permanent faculty of the college is recruited as per the norms of selection laid down by
the Government of Punjab/DPI/UGC/GNDU, Amritsar. The interviews are held at DAV
CMC where teachers are selected on the basis of merit, on probation. After the competition
of the probation period, the faculty and the other staff are retained.
Home Science Department organized art and craft workshop in collaboration with Pidilite
Industries. The 7 days workshop in which various methods of craft making were taught to
students by expert appointed by Pidilite.

The following welfare measures are taken to improve the well-being, satisfaction and
motivation of the staff and faculty:
The college executes the strategies adopted by the GNDU, Amritsar and Government of
Punjab for faculty welfare which includes monetary benefits for those with higher
qualifications such as M. Phil. and Ph.D.
At the institutional level, the College motivates faculty members through appreciations of
their merit and talent and provides opportunities for self expression.
DAV College Managing Committee and Local Managing Committee applaud Principal
and faculty for distinctive achievements in various fields.
The Principal rewards the faculty in Annual Prize Distribution Function for their splendid
achievements.
DAVCMC provides loan facility against Provident Fund for which The Principal is the
recommending authority.
Bank-Draft making facility with 50% charges and bank account with zero balance has
been provided to the staff, faculty & students.
The facility of Day-Care Centre, Boutique, Cosmetology Services, and Gym are provided
to the staff, students & faculty at reasonable rates.
The wards of the DAV staff are given substantial concession.
In some of the DAV professional institutes, a separate quota of seats is available for
wards of DAV employees.
Group Insurance Scheme has been provided for the benefit of the employees.

The efforts are made to make least utilization of paper by filling absentee of students

The institution celebrates the birthdays of LMC members, faculty members (both
teaching & non teaching) every year. On this occasion, the members donate books of
their choice to the Library. This healthy practice is a very positive step towards the
enrichment of the library. During session 2014-15 birthdays of 05 LMC members, 50
teaching faculty members and 13 non-teaching staff members were celebrated.
Approximately 60 books were donated to the library. In return plants are presented to
LMC Members and all the guests under 'Go Green Campaign'
