From the Lead Pastor’s Heart

We express Christian sympathy to:

Diane Argraves on the death of her mother, Wilda Bean John Williams on the death of his sister

Carter Trail (by baptism) 261 Avery Court Finish Line

Looking forward to what lies ahead, I

press on to reach the goal at the end

of the race. Philippians 3:13-14

This Sunday morning we will introduce Finish Line, a new three-year

capital giving campaign. The goal of this campaign will be to pay off our

church building loan by May 31, 2021. We will ask each family in our

church to prayerfully consider making a commitment to give beyond your

regular tithes and offerings for the next three years to help us reach this

goal.

Over the past ten years we have doubled the size of our church

facilities, which has allowed our church to double in attendance. We

have also bought and moved seven houses, which has enabled us to

more than double our parking. The value of our new buildings and

parking is over $5 million. Church members have been faithfully giving to

our building campaigns over the last several years. Now we are within

sight of the finish line! Our goal is to give $475,000 to Finish Line over

the next three years. If we reach this goal, we will pay off all our

indebtedness by the end of this campaign! (In our current campaign,

Finish the Race, we made a commitment to give $464,000 over three

years. Now, with a few weeks left in this campaign, we have given

$508,000!)

Each church member will have a Finish Line packet with your

name on it in your Connection Group this Sunday. If you are not in a

Connection Group, you can pick up your packet at the welcome center. I

hope you will read the Finish Line brochure. It contains great testimonies

from church members and an overview of Finish Line.

The packet also contains a commitment card. I ask you to pray

over what God would want you to give through this campaign. Our

Commitment Day is May 6. You can place your commitment card in one

of our three deposit boxes. Or, you can fill out an online commitment

card on our church website. The first Sunday of giving to Finish Line is

June 3. I look forward to what lies ahead for our church. Let’s press on

to the end of the race!
