A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Congratulaons to our School Captains, Mia and Riley, along with our House Captains, who
do an excellent job in leading our school assembly each Monday morning and at special
events. Along with the other student leaders who assist each week, they are organised,
confident and poised. Our student leaders approach their tasks in a very mature way, and
make us all proud as they posively display great leadership skills.

NAPLAN
The Naonal Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) involves students in Years 3 and 5 from all
states and territories in Australia. NAPLAN tesng will take place on Tuesday 15th
May, Wednesday 16th
May and
Thursday 17th
May. Students’ skills in reading, wring, language convenons (spelling, punctuaon and
grammar) and numeracy will be assessed. These naonal test results provide informaon on how your child is
progressing and performing in the key areas of literacy and numeracy and also help to support improvements in
teaching to benefit your child. Parents can support their children to be ready to parcipate in these assessment
tasks by facilitang a smooth, calm start to each day. Simple tasks such as ensuring that students have breakfast
before coming to school and that they arrive at school on me can make a big difference.
Student Atudes to School Survey
The A3tudes to School survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Educaon and Training
(DET) to assist schools to gain an understanding of student percepons of our programs and processes and their
sense of social and emoonal wellbeing. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and acvies to
improve your child's schooling experience.
All students from year 4 to year 6 will parcipate in the survey during school me. Students will complete the
survey online using desktops, laptops or iPads. The site is secure and each student will be provided with an
individual password.
Last year we used the survey results to gather data about student behaviour and wellbeing.
We also used feedback from the survey to modify our teaching and learning programs. This year the A3tudes to
School Survey will be conducted over three weeks beginning this week. Students will complete the 30min
survey in class. Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more informaon.

Updates to Flexible Booking Op"ons
At Camp Australia (Head Office) they have been super busy over the Autumn break in finding ways that
they can add more value for parents with their new Flexible Booking Opons.
(Refer to hAps://www.campaustralia.com.au/Policies/Terms/ (Terms and Condions).
While they make improvements to the Flex-e-Care e-card, it will be removed from the purchase
opons; they will bring it back when they are confident it can suit your needs.
They have updated the premium offering of the Gold Membership. This opon has no late booking
fees and no cancela"on fees up to 2 hours before the service. The minimum amount of bookings per
year to pay the permanent fee has been halved to 20 per year pro rata – so no need to lock in to one
booking per week.
As we’re sll in the Aussie All-Star spirit, they are offering FREE upgrades to the Gold Membership
from the silver membership, log on to your Parent Portal and follow the prompts before April 30.
