Today’s Message -
SERIES: ON THE JESUS ROAD
Peace Be With You!
A Message from John 20.19
Speaker: Rev. David Goodin
AN ENDURING PEACE
If you have longed for peace, let me introduce you to Jesus,
the Prince of Peace.
When hearts are burdened, weighed down with care,
overwrought by anxiety and fear, we need to hear the Lord say,
Peace. Be still. He can speak calm
to the turbulence that boils inside us, and he quiets us
just as he soothed winds and waves on the Sea of Galilee.
The worst that can happen
is death, right? But Jesus is the answer to that!
Death forfeited its sting,
gave up its victory, when Christ Jesus escaped the cold grasp of that grim reaper.
And his conquest is ours,
by faith in him! He gives us this assurance:
I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes
in me will never die. John 11.25-26
That’s real peace! The One who vanquishes death
has brought us eternal life and he says to us,
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Peace…from the Peace Giver.
Our hope is in the Lord!
We are Cherry Tree Alliance.
LOVING GOD, LOVING YOU!

COMING EVENTS
PLEASE SPEAK SOFTLY IN THE FOYER DURING THE WORSHIP SERVICE!
We've been told that conversations in the foyer are distracting for those in the sanctuary. Thanks for helping us enhance
the worship experience for all!
PEACE BE WITH YOU! SERIES: ON THE JESUS ROAD On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
John 20.19 (NIV)
Abstract: The resurrection of Jesus Christ inaugurated a peace that is beyond anything the world can give. We are comforted in the knowledge that sin is forgiven and death is vanquished. We rejoice in the Good News that God is on our side, and we delight in a relationship with him that calms all our fears.
Your notes and comments:
TELLING THE EASTER STORY In vain with stone the cave they barred; In vain the watchmen stood on guard; And hope and joy and peace begin, For Christ has won, and we will win.
