CONTE NTSWe have just completed our first quarter of 2019. Through our Town Hall meetings, we have become very aware of issues that have not been attended to with the necessary urgency. We thank you for your honest and candid feedback, which are vital in order for us to take the necessary steps to be more proactive moving forward. We have added 4 new microwaves and will soon be reorganizing that area of the cafeteria to make it more user friendly. We have also placed some additional water coolers on various production floors. The shipment of 400 chairs had an unexpected delay, they are due to arrive in the country on April 11th and will be onsite after Semana Santa. With regards to cafeteria charges and the discrepancy between payroll and AV-Now, we are actively working on the issue. Please report any issue to your supervisor, if you have been affected. We are in the process of finalizing our leadership development program which will be mandatory for all supervisors and leadership positions. This program will include courses such as Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Skills Workshops. We also will be identifying employees that demonstrate potential as future leaders to participate in this program. We realize there are many other issues to address and we will update you at the next Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30pm. These meetings have been very productive for us and we encourage more engagement from all of you. This is especially important in our upcoming Semana Santa holiday. Our Happiness Officer together with Operations has put together activities, prizes, giveaways and raffles so that everyone can enjoy this holiday here at Advensus.
We count on you to spend Semana Santa with Us!

KNOW YO U R STAFFRichard de Jesus Rodriguez has one big smile!
One of the first things I noticed other than his smile was that he is very tall and has very good posture.
He sat down in front of me, ready to talk a bit about himself.
Richard was born in Santiago on March 22, 1982, he has an old soul quality about him, he is the kind of guy that does a lot of thinking. He is super high energy and when he talks, he projects his voice in a way that lets everyone know he has a lot to say. One of the things that makes him happiest is going to Santiago to visit family and friends. He says, with a rather faraway look in his eye, that it’s less noisy and cleaner. Things that apparently mean a lot to him.
At the age of 7 he moved to Brooklyn with his mother and stayed there until 2004. While in the U.S. he attended school and then began working in the pharmaceutical industry with his uncle. In 2015 he moved to the city of Santo Domingo in search of various opportunities.
Richard has been with us for over a year and a half and is an ADA for Global Industrial.
His favorite part of his current job is being able to resolve issues for customers; he says the job requires a lot of common sense. Something that he appears to have.
He describes himself as both an introvert and an extrovert. It seems fitting because he shows both qualities: a person who has a lot to say and isn’t afraid to say it while also being a thinker. His openness about his opinions, and his willingness to express them, at times gets him into trouble.
One if his best human qualities he says, is that he is extremely conscious about the environment. He can’t understand how people can mistreat the planet we live in.

Have you ever thought that some words are perfect for the thing that they represent? Cause I sure have… plenty of times. In fact, I think about it almost every time that I use some of these words and it makes my brain smile.
Important note: I’m not talking about onomatopoeia (made up words used to describe sounds like meow, woof or bang) I’m talking about legit words, some of my favorites in the list bellow (not all of them legit BTW).
There’s a rap song called “las cosas por su nombre” from “los violadores del verso” and part of the hook goes “letras sinceras siempre porque… llama las cosas por su nombre” I think that calling things by their name should be one of life’s unwritten rules.
I’ve become a fan of this and try to implement this in my everyday life. People must sometimes think that I talk slow but I’m just searching for the right word all over my mind, sometimes I find it, sometimes I ask for suggestions to the person I’m talking to and other times I interrupt the conversation for like 20 seconds until I go “yeah yeah the thing that goes on top of the thing, you know what I’m talking about right?” head nod.
So join me in this quest! and let’s get specific, makes life easier and I’m a fan of making life easier. In fact, I can think of a couple of times when I got in trouble just for NOT being specific with my words but these stories are rated R. Maybe someday I tell you in person when the universe decides to cross our paths with a beer in our hands.

CONTE N I D O
