As part of CFES, all students are required to do a community service project. This month students are coordinating a
“Hygiene Drive” that will benefit our Mulberry Middle School students. The goal is to provide the basic needs that
some students may not have access to on their own, due to circumstances they have no control over. In effort to boost
student confidence and decrease bullying, CFES is assembling “hygiene bags” for students who need them. The drive
will be from April 2-April 13th… Items we need are to be NEW/Unused…. Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Condi-
tioners, Deodorant, Hand Sanitizer, soft wipes, etc. These can be travel size as well. These items will be assembled for
distribution whenever needed… Students will be asked to take them to their 1st period class to be picked up.
CFES will be selling World’s Finest Chocolate thru April 12th
The CFES scholars that participate in computer coding and robotics with Fed-Ex Computer Scientists will have their graduation ceremony for completing the program May 17th. Parents will receive invitations so RSVPs can be collected for planning purposes.
The Civics End of Course State Exam (worth 30% of the student’s grade) will occur on May 4th, 2018. To
begin reviewing and preparing for the test, the student can use the following resources:
Civics360.org—Students will need to create a login for this website but will have access to videos, vocabulary and prac-
tice quizzes on each standard tested.
Floridastudents.org—Click on Social Studies and then Civics. Watch tutorials on the standards covered on the test.
Quizlet.com—A student can create interactive flashcards to study vocabulary terms.
icivics.org—Games to reinforce what we are learning in class. Become a judge on the Supreme Court and make deci-
sions about cases. Run for President and create a platform to gain followers. Decide if a person’s constitution-
al rights are being violated. You do not have to create a login to play, only if you want to save your progress.

night on April 17th
