Sunday morning as we celebrate the resurrection of

Jesus Christ after He died on that cross.

Youth will lead the Sunrise Worship Service begin-

ning at 6:30 a.m.

A carry-in breakfast will follow at 7:30 a.m. for every-

one. Bring your favorite breakfast dish (or 2) to share.

Don Jacob’s Sunday School class will be hosts with

kitchen duties this morning.

Sunday School at 8:30 a.m. for all ages with Morning

Worship & Jr. Church (4yrs.-5th graders) at 9:45 a.m.

Nurseries for 0-3 years will love on the wee ones

while parents gather to share in the morning celebra-

tion. There will be no Youth Group (MYM) Easter

Sunday.

Interruptions can be viewed as sources of irri-tation or opportunities for service, as moments lost or experience gained, as time wasted or horizons widened. Adults have an opportunity for service Wednesday, April 5 -- to package meals that will be shared with those who have little or no food. Will you interrupt your usual day of activ-ity to serve by packing these meals?

The group of 20 adults will leave at 8:30 a.m. for Peoria’s Midwest Food Bank. Our service time will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. When done the group will make their way to the Olive Garden for lunch before returning home.

Please let us know you can go by contacting the office or signing up in the fellowship hall. If more people are interested, another date will be arranged so more can serve with the Midwest Food Bank.

We are rejoicing at the public declaration of faith followed by bap-tism of Will Deitrich & Linda Finton. Will was baptized by his dad, Kevin, March 19th. Linda was baptized by Mark Nichols March 26th. As you see them or think of them, pray for their walk with Jesus that it be strong, ever-growing and shining bright to those they meet in every day life.

pare your family for Easter.

Easter often takes a back burner to Christmas and it

often gets confused with bunnies and chocolate. By

starting to focus on Easter early and doing an activi-

ty together every day we start to build up anticipa-

tion for this holiday. Easter is an amazing oppor-

tunity to discuss the power of God, the love of Christ

and the victory over death for us! This holiday

does not have to be complicated, but full of truth

that will give your kids some stepping stones in their

faith journey!

As parents we get the privilege to be our kid’s best

teacher! We get the opportunity to lay the founda-

tion of Jesus Christ by displaying that in our homes

on a daily basis. This family activity gets you into

God’s Word every day and has questions or activi-

ties to do together to grow their knowledge of the

Bible and their faith in Jesus!

See you Resurrection Sunday!

Mom2Mom (formerly MOPS) would like to invite

anyone interested to come to our April 14th meet-

ing. There will be a guest speaker from the Quad

Cities to speak about the Super Summer Chal-

lenge. This is a program designed to give moms a

tool to teach their kids to be self-motivated and pro-

ductive during the summer. This has multiple bene-

fits not the least of which is preserving mom’s sani-

ty! Since it applies to age groups beyond preschool,

we would welcome any other interested moms at

9:15 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage.

time with Jesus, they were simply speaking JE-

SUS out of the overflow of what they had experi-

enced and knew.

If we are being 100% real, the reason many of us

don’t speak into the lives of a hurting world is be-

cause we haven’t spent enough time with Jesus.

But that can change. It needs to change. A lost

world is counting on it.

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsid-

ers, making the most of the opportunity.

We all have been given opportunities (arranged by

the Holy Spirit’s leading) to speak into the lives of

people. Erwin McManus calls them divine moments.

The problem is that we don’t see them as opportuni-

ties arranged by the Holy Spirit…our eyes view them

as inconveniences or coincidences or accidents. But

if that’s how we view our encounters with people, we

will miss out on opportunities to speak into the lives

of a hurting, lost people.

In order to make the most of every opportunity, we

MUST point people to Jesus. But the problem is we

aren’t very good at pointing people to Jesus – and I

get it because the name of Jesus is so powerful that

you aren’t sure how people will respond! Will people

be angry? Offended? Upset? Will they laugh?

There will always be a risk. There will always be op-

position. But in the midst of opposition and in the

face of risk, remember this: Don’t deny someone the

opportunity to hear about salvation because you’re

afraid of the opposition you may face! You have lost

family members. You have lost neighbors. You

have lost friends…who may never hear the gospel if

YOU DON’T SPEAK.

And while it can be intimidating to point people to

Jesus…it’s not that hard to do it. You simply speak

what you know! You point people to Jesus using

your experiences and knowledge of what He has

done for you in your life!

In Acts chapter 4, Peter and John are standing be-

fore an angry group of the religious elite of their

day…they were smart and sharp and knew the scrip-

tures better than anyone else. And Peter and John

were untrained, uneducated men. Their only qualifi-

For centuries, men of faith have been given a call to mentor men. God calls men to pass on to the next generation what once was passed on to them. Joshua had Moses, Elisha had Elijah, John had Jesus, and Timothy had Paul. This Men’s Day we are going to echo this call to men. But we’re going to do more than talk about it - we’re going to make it a reality.

During Men’s Day, we will be offering a spe-cial mentoring workshop where any man can join a 12-month mentoring group. Mem-bers of these groups will occasionally meet to-gether throughout the year, and at other times have one-on-one conversations and prayer times with the mentor. Each group will be led by a wise leader from around the area who has taken the Psalmist’s words to heart: “Even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another gen-eration.” Psalm 71:18

Trip to Shiloh April 7 & 8, 2017

BCC is taking families, couples or individuals to Shiloh for a work crew and to give the homepar-ents an evening out April 7 & 8.

On Friday the 8th of April, leaving near 4 p.m., the group will arrive at the Kahoka site to treat the kids to pizza and hang out with them for the evening. The homeparents will be sent on their way for the evening to enjoy some time as a couple. There is an option to stay the night at Shiloh or return home Friday night about 11 p.m.

Saturday, April 9th, a van will return for a work day (cut wood, repair/replace flower bed/landscaping and more) for men, women & chil-dren to participate.

The Mission Team is funding this trip so it is free to anyone who wants to go. Donations would be accepted to help cover the costs of Pizza on Fri-day night and a donation will be left with Shiloh to help cover the costs of feeding us on Satur-day. There is a sign up sheet to let the Mission Team know what day you will go, if you are stay-ing overnight, and the name & number of those going.

What an opportunity to participate in a “short” term mission trip very close to home! From per-sonal experience with Shiloh, you may go with the desire to bless them but you will be blessed in return!

A group trip to see the Creation Museum & the Ark is set for July 9-11. Hotel & tickets to enter have been arranged. If you are interested in go-ing by chartered bus with this group, please sign up in the fellowship hall or see George Link. There is a packet of information available at the sign up sheet that covers costs, motel, and more. After Easter, this trip will be opened up to people outside of the BCC family. The bus seats 56 and each person will be required to purchase a bus seat.

Origami - what is it? Fabric origami will be demonstrated by Joyce Taylor of Warsaw at the next Sisters-in-Christ meeting Wed., April 5th at 6:30

p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Fabric origami offers crafters an opportunity to make artistic objects out of fabric. There are six basic types of fabric origami: general fabric folding, towel folding, napkin folding, quilts, clothing and toys. Each one employs a form of folding fabric into an object or design. Joyce will demonstrate as well as show many designs she has created. Each lady in attend-ance will have the opportunity to make and take an article home which they have “folded” during the evening.

Co-hostesses for the April meeting are Susie Schulte and Wilma Snyder. Pam Jefferson will give the devo-tion. Any lady who doesn’t enjoy sewing, but would like to work with fabric, is invited to come and join the fun.

WOW! Have you experienced camp? It all began as an idea of Melvin Fiscus in 1945 at Bailey Park in Camp Point, IL. In 1947 Camp Point Ser-vice Camp saw 63 campers sleeping in tents for one week. From this year, camp grew, land was purchased, buildings built, torn down, build new. Gordon Blankenship is the 5th camp manger. LaMoine Christian Service Camp is the mis-

sion focus in April. A recent change in camp per-sonnel, Gordon Blankenship is now the camp man-ager. Jon Gillespie continues as facility manager through May. Jamie Blankenship is the office/hospitality manger.

Are you thinking, “I’m too old for camp!”? No wor-ries, there is a day camp just for you. Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. there are special individu-als coming in to share music, laughs, and encour-age a good time. There will be donuts & coffee to start your day and a delicious meal to keep up your energy mid-day. Cost is $15 for all day.

Maybe you’re saying, “My child is too young for camp!” Well, maybe - unless your child is entering 1st grade in the fall of 2017. There are Day Camps for kids entering 1st & 2nd grade; Overnighters for those 3rd graders; First Chance for the 4th graders; Junior weeks for 5th-6th grades; Jr. High weeks for those 7th-8th graders; Niners for 9th graders only; and not to be forgotten - Hi Teen week (only 1 chance here) for the 10th-13th graders.

Whether you are planning a day trip or a week long family reunion, they have the resources to meet your needs. Groups of all types and sizes have already experienced the joys of an outing at LaMoine; leadership retreats, youth retreats, scrap-booking retreats, class parties, birthday parties, family reunions, picnics, swimming pool parties, wedding receptions, service project outings, and more. NEW this YEAR -- Prayer Week. They are calling all of God’s people to join them for a week of prayer, dedication, and consecration at LCSC. Daily, May 30 to June 3, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., you are invited to come and pray for the camp, the staff, the camp-ers, and the faculty; praying that God will work mir-acles this summer. Bring your family and a sack lunch/dinner and spend some time together in prayer and fellowship. (Gordon and the staff will be available to you each day.)
