For our April issue, we’d like to update you on how your 4-H agents and staff are working toward these goals. We also invite you to become a #TrueLeader in this endeavor, as a 4-H youth, parent or volunteer. Revamp: give new and improved form, structure, or appearance to. What we’re doing: #TrueLeaders and #4HGrowsHere social media campaigns; updated newsleer content and layout What we’re working on: improving our county 4-H website; incorporang youth art (such as photography entries) into markeng material What you can do: share with others the variety of interests that youth can ex- plore in 4-H; remember that the REAL project is growing our youth—projects are just tools to make it happen Reenergize: give fresh vitality, enthusiasm, or impetus to. What we’re doing: developing 4-H Ambassadors group; networking with community leaders and businesses What we’re working on: strengthening 4-H/FFA relaons; encouraging parcipaon at district and state 4-H levels What you can do: get excited about the Bale of the Clovers!; share your 4-H story online and in your community; try a new 4-H project; integrate all your interests into your 4-H lifestyle: Theatre junkie? Lead a theatre warmup at your meeng. Athlete? Plan a community fitness event. Reinforce: strengthen or support, especially with addional personnel or material. What we’re doing: The Ulmate Guide to a Successful 4-H Meeng; full 4-H staff; contest work- shops What we’re working on: recordbooks and project resources library; project workshops; volunteer training What you can do: aend County Council and Parents & Leaders meengs to stay connected and impact programming; consult Club Ed resources to plan for meengs (Volunteers tab on Texas 4-H)

Revamp, Reenergize, Reinforce:

Leading Fort Bend 4-H Into the Future

In January we held a Club Coordinators Meeting where we proposed three

words as the foundation for an improved county 4-H program: Revamp, Reenergize, Reinforce. For our April issue, we’d like to update you on how your 4-H

Eli’s Fund: Statewide 4-H Fundraiser

Texas 4-H Council encourages all 4-H clubs to get

involved and support this statewide fundraising activity.

Eli’s Fund helps the Texas Veterinary Medical

Foundation provide financial support for active duty service men and women, medically retired veteran’s

service animals and retired military animals.

Donations are made directly to the College of

Veterinary Medicine, http://vetmed.tamu.edu/giving/

opportunities/elis-fund. The Moore Family of Corpus Christi will recognize the top three counties with $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. Include #Texas4H and your County in the “Additional

comments” section when making your online donation.

MANDATORY County Council

Officer Candidate Training County Council is a group of youth leaders who guide 4-H programming in the county.

While every club can send delegates, County Council is led by 6 officers: president, vice-president, secretary,

treasurer, reporter and parliamentarian.

If you are interested in running for office in May,

you MUST attend the pre-election candidate

training at April’s County Council Meeting, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 7pm.

We’ll go over officer responsibilities, candidate speeches and some questions you might need to answer on

election day.

D9 Leadership Lab Develop and practice leadership skills through recreation and education. Apply what you learn at your

club and in County/District Council.

Registration: $255, due May 15 on 4-H Connect Date: June 28-30, 2016

Let your voice be heard! County Council meetings been scheduled for the 2015—2016 year as follows:

Every chartered 4-H Club is encouraged to identify and

send at least one delegate to every 4-H County Council

meeting. Meetings are held at the Extension Office in the Annex Meeting Room starting at 7:00pm.
