Loveland Rotarian Leads Volunteerism in Nicaragua
Can you imagine not having access to a library? That is the reality for many people around the world and in Latin America in particular. A local pioneer established Nicaragua’s first lending library in 2001 and has been working there since. Jane Mirandette is a Loveland Rotarian who splits her time between Loveland and San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Additionally, Jane has established an orphanage and mobile libraries in Nicaragua. She frequently leads groups of students to Nicaragua who volunteer to improve the conditions in that culturally rich and friendly country. Jane will be coming to the LHS Library on April 22 at 6:30pm to discuss a trip available to local students through Fort Collins-‐ based SAGE program (Studies Abroad for Global Engagement).
We explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance. In doing so, we acquire in-‐depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.
Somos informados e instruidos. Nous sommes informés. Wir sind wissend.
