3 KEY CLUB. CVHS. D2. R9. CNH District.

Castro Valley DCON attendees had a blast learning about Key Club, celebrating service, and building their leadership at the 67th Cali-Nev-Ha District Convention in Santa Clara! All three days, we headed from conference rooms, to ballrooms, and theaters to attend beneficial workshops. LTGs and District Board members presented useful information to the rooms filled with enthusiastic Key Clubbers. During the four General Sessions, which were usually timed right next to a meal, were in a huge hall. On stage, members of the District Board would speak from a podium, making announcements, sharing information, or speaking about Key Club. We even had a special performance from our district advisor, Ms. Lolito-Byers, who danced for our district! Other talents entertained us with their voices, piano skills, and yo-yo performance. Presentations about Project JumpStart, Project Eliminate, and March of Dimes lit up the projector. The second morning, we had the caucus session, where we were introduced to the District Board candidates and international endorsement candidates. Our delegates later participated in the House of Delegates to vote for our new executives. Congratulations to the new District Executive Board, and good luck to those seeking International positions at International Convention! Our club was very sad to leave Santa Clara that weekend. We had a lot of fun, met lots of new people, and saw a side of Key Club we didn’t before. We also got the opportunity to photobomb plenty of pictures! District Convention 2012 has truly affected attendees from Castro Valley! By Kelly Chan

Message from your President

HEY KIWIS, HOW DO YOU FEEL? I hope you guys just screamed that in your head, house, library or wherever you are right now. Anyways, the school year is coming to a close and I just want to congratulate and thank everybody for the hard work that you guys have all put in this year. It's been a difficult year, for me, I hope it was fun for you guys! I'm so proud that we have almost 2000 service hours completed! Pat yourselves on the back and don't forget to come celebrate at the annual end-of-the-year BBQ that we have! Beyond this, installation is coming up. For those of you who don't know, it's when this year's officers officially retire and the new officers are put tow work! Yes, even though the school year is coming to a close, your 2012-2013 officers are still hard at work putting together a fabulous year for you guys! This includes summer events-- beach clean ups, PB&J-a-thons, and of course car washes and Relay for Life. To close, I just want to thank you again. The members, the officers, the advisers. Without you guys, this year would not have been as successful as it has been. Be sure to maintain your dedication to Key Club to see what we have in store for you next year! Fluttering in service, Sarah Chen 2011-2012 CVHS Key Club President
