Program Highlights

The Unquiet Library celebrated National Poetry Month with a day of poetry reading with Ms. Nayman’s 11th American Literature/Composition students. Student and teacher interviews are available on our YouTube Channel!

Ms. Orfale’s 10th World Literature/Composition student enjoyed a day of fun with Flip cameras in preparation for a project in which they will rewrite classic plays and video their skits.

Ms. Lester’s 10th Literature/Composition students learned research skills in selecting, locating, and contacting an expert on their research topics; students also learned how to write an appropriate letter/email of inquiry to their experts.

Ms. Lester’s 10th Literature/Composition students learned how to add RSS feeds and to embed HTML code into their Netvibes pages.

Ms. Kennedy’s 11th grade students created faux Facebook pages using a Publisher template to show their key learnings about modern American authors.

“The poetry reading really changed my perceptions about poetry and the people in my class in a positive way.” Rosie, 11th grade “Throughout this whole process, I have learned a lot about contacting experts and interacting with such people. I have learned how to write a business style letter and actually send one. I have learned about how to evaluate which people are the right ones to talk to, and also how to find out how to contact experts.” Loren, 10th grade
