Sound Quality
What is Sound Quality?
Sound quality is the result of the blending of several pitches through interference.
Musical instruments differ in part of the instrument that vibrates and in the way that the vibrations are made.
String Instruments
Instruments that make sound when their strings are plucked. Ex: Violins, guitar, and banjos

Wind Instruments
A wind instrument produces sound when a vibration is created at one end of its air column.
The vibrations cause standing waves inside the air column.
Pitch is changed by changing the length of the air column. Ex: Saxophone, oboes, flute, recorders http://www.soundsnap.com/search/audio/sax/score
Percussion Instruments
Make sound when struck.Different sizes are used to get different
pitches.Larger the instrument, the lower the pitch.

floor.
