Semi-liquid material wasadded to the circular area surroundingthat concave base from the inside and isnow hardened, presumably to repair aweakening or separation of the base.This area of the base may have beenthinned by use and sliding the object onrough surfaces. 19 GIBSON ES-150 ELECTRICSPANISH GUITAR Classic ES-150,Gibson's first model in the ElectricSpanish line, launched in 1936. Itbecame the first truly successfulsix-string electric guitar. The ES-150designation came from the $150 price forthe guitar, the matching EH-150amplifier, and 15 foot cord. This modelwas made famous by Charlie Christian,said to be the first electric guitar soloist,

and who later became a member of theBenny Goodman sextet. Many seeCharlie Christian's adoption of theES-150 as the beginning of the modernguitar and even America's modern music.This example has a metal tailpiece andsingle neck pickup. The guitar wasassembled with a solid spruce arch top,solid maple back and sides, mahoganyneck, and rosewood fret board.Pickguard stabilizer has oxidized. It hasdouble sound holes, twin control knobs,19 frets, and a rosewood fret board andbridge. There is severe crazing to finishthroughout, significant scuffing andscratches on back, with wear to finish onthe back of the neck consistent withconsiderable play. Includes a hardshellcase with good padding inside. Caseshows wear inside and out, but still ingood serviceable condition. 20 SIGMA DM-2 ACOUSTICGUITAR, WITH CASE Clean and tightSigma/C.F .Martin acoustic guitar withsteel strings. Guitar maker C.F.Martin&Co in Nazareth, PA, createdSigma Guitars in 1970 to compete withthe increasing number of importedguitars. Sigma guitars were made inJapan, Korea, and China. The Koreanmanufactured label dates production ofthis guitar between 1984-1994. Theguitars were sent to Martin&Co to be

inspected and adjusted by Martinpersonnel before going to an authorizedretail store. This example has aRosewood fret board, 20 frets. Taginside indicates serial number 259508. Acouple of scuffs to front and back fromplaying and basic use, but no majorissues. Includes case with a green foamlining inside beginning to show some ageand brittleness. The case exterior showsnormal wear and tear. A couple of scuffsto front and back from playing and basicuse, but no major issues. 21 SEARS SILVERTONE N-3ACOUSTIC GUITAR, WITH CASESilvertone model N-3 acoustic guitar.The L555 number on the stamp insidethe guitar indicates this was probablymanufactured for Sears by the KayMusical Instrument Company. Silvertoneguitars were used by a virtual "who'swho" of rock, pop, and folk artists. Thismodel is a 19 fret guitar with doublesound holes. Clean and tight, butobviously needs a new set of strings.There are a few random scuffs on thefinish, the frets have lost their finish, anda pick guard stabilizer has oxidized.Wood bridge and metal tailpiece in verygood condition. Hardshell leatherettecase in average condition, with one dentand normal wear and tear. 22 HARMONY STELLAACOUSTIC GUITAR H929 HarmonyStella H929 with stenciled fret markers,a metal tailpiece and 18 frets. The Stellaguitar brand was acquired by theHarmony company in 1939. Productionyears for the model H929 were1945-1970. The white plastic pick guarddates this post-1961. Elvis Presley useda Stella H929 in the movie "JailhouseRock". This example is missing the Gstring tuning post and is in very roughcondition, with numerous dings, dents,retouches, blemishes. One of the straphooks has been replaced. No case isincluded. 23 HARMONY H-6341 ACOUSTICGUITAR The Harmony Guitar Companyoriginated in Chicago in 1892, and grewinto the most successful American-madestringed instrument producer. Sales in1930 topped 500,000. The HarmonyH-6341 acoustic flat top model wasmanufactured between 1972-1975, at thevery end of the Chicago factory'soperation. This example has a birchbody, steel reinforced neck, and 19 frets.

24 CHRISTY LONGNECK FIVESTRING BANJO GIBSON CASEChristy Banjos began in DenverColorado in the 1960s. This is the longneck model five string banjo. Faux woodveneer over cast metal body with brightchromed fittings and rosewood fretboard. Shows signs of dedicated use,with wear on skin and a bit of crazing tothe headstock. Bridge appears verygood. Cosmetically in good condition.Tight and clean. Includes nice hardshellcase, tuning fork, a Fast Action BanjoCapo, several sets of replacementstrings, and an assortment of plectrums.Good condition overall.

25 ORPHEUM NO. 2 BANJO WITHCARVED NECK, RESONATOROrpheum Banjos originated from theearly 1900s in New York. We are unableto locate a serial number, apparentlyserial numbering of these banjos did notstart until 1912. This is a 4 string tenorbanjo with 17 frets, the "short scale"model. Beautiful partially carved neckwith abalone/mother-of-pearl inlaid fretboard and ornate headstock veneer.

It arrived in the western US in the1840s with Chinese immigrants andbecame a popular fixture in gamblingsaloons of the "Old West". It is rare tofind a machine in this condition, with somuch of the original equipment intact. Ithas the numbered game balls, the registerfor withdrawn balls, game cards, andassorted markers. This example wasfound in a fitted primitive wooden boxwith tongue-and-groove constructionand grain painted decoration. Mason &Co moved it's base of operations back tothe original Newark NJ location in 1910.The George mason Company has aKansas City connection. In the 1940s, itwas bought out by the K.C. CardCompany, located at 12th and McGee indowntown Kansas City. The Cherrywood 'Goose' as it's called measures 22inches high and 14 inches diameter.
