Session Objectives• I can locate the Transformed ELA MPIs in the

NCDPI LiveBinder.

• I can explain how the linguistic complexity of ELA Common Core Standards affects teaching and learning for ELLs.

• I can use the MPIs to illustrate how the progression of language complexity used by students increases as proficiency levels increase.
