The Charleston Symphony Orchestra (Charleston, SC) announces an audition for: PRINCIPAL TROMBONE (full-time resident core musician, tenure-track position, with brass quintet duties) Audition Date: Monday, April 16, 2018 2018-19 Season September 17, 2018 - April 28, 2019 (32 weeks total including 2 paid vacation weeks) Employment to commence September 17, 2018. 2017-18 Season Annual Salary: $32,888 Full benefits package including health, dental, instrument, and disability insurance; paid personal and sick leave; CSO retirement vehicle available The Charleston Symphony Orchestra is one of South Carolina’s largest performing arts organizations. The CSO has a sustainable business model with seven years of modest surpluses and is proud to foster a collaborative working environment amongst musicians, staff, and board members. The CSO is seen as a model of success within the national performing arts community and is enjoying a broad base of support from all segments of the Charleston community. A regional orchestra with twenty-four salaried musicians, the CSO serves the Lowcountry of South Carolina with high-quality performances of symphonic and chamber music and inspiring educational and outreach programs. Resumés will be screened by the audition committee, and all applicants will be notified by March 19 th whether or not they have been invited to the audition.
