CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES’ OPERATION RICE BOWL

As we reflect on Christ’s passion, we remember that more than 44 million people in the U.S. are living in poverty. 25% of our

contributions remain in our diocese to support local hunger and poverty alleviation efforts. Your prayers, fasting, learning, and almsgiving through Operation Rice Bowl make a significant difference in the lives of people in our own community and in communities around the world. Rice Bowls can be handed in at any time. If you are sending a check, please leave a few coins in the rice bowl so that the counters will know the bowl is not empty.

As we celebrate Holy Week, Bishop Cote asks for our prayers for our priests and deacons, especially those who are ill and/or in financial need. The EASTER COLLECTION (the second collection) is

for our sick and needy priests. Last Easter your generous donations amounted to $180,895. Unfortunately the expense for our sick and needy priests was $309,690. Again Bishop Cote thanks us for our prayers and financial offerings.

Knights of Columbus will bring the Image of OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE to St. Philip on April 14 then to St Jude April 15. More information will follow.
