Activity 4: Song: “B.I.N.G.O.”

Canción: “B.I.N.G.O.”

You and your students or children are most likely familiar with the famous song “There Was a Farmer Who Had a Dog”. Kids love this song in English and in Spanish and it’s a great way to practice and master five letters in the Spanish alphabet!

Capture the children’s attention by barking and asking the children what animal they hear. They will say “a dog”. Tell them you think you know where the barking is coming from! Show them the picture of the dog from page 59. Tell them his name is BINGO and he lives on a farm. Explain that they are going to learn a song about him which involves spelling and clapping to the letters in his name. Show the class the let-ters in his name from pages 51-60. On one side of each page is a letter and on the reverse side is a picture of hands clapping. Lay the letters on the floor so they spell his name. Play Spanish in July CD Track 4. It will teach you and your students the song lyrics and prepare you to sing it with the music!

Note: Kids love it when you call on them to be your help-er! Call on kids to turn over the letters in BINGO’s name and also to use a wand or light saber to touch the letters in BINGO’s name as they are sung in the song.
