The Statutory City of Brno has been concerned with the issue of domestic violence since 2004

The attitude of the City of Brno to domestic violence was promulgated in a declaration of the Brno City Council in March 2005

Declaration of the Brno City Council Identified domestic violence as a society-wide problem that must be

tackled at all levels including the level of municipal policy

Denounced all forms of domestic violence Guaranteed political support of activities related to domestic

violence prevention and help to the victims

The declaration of the Brno City Council was the main impulse for the establishment of the IDT (May 2005) The interdisciplinary cooperation and team within the City of Brno

was initiated by the Department of Health of the Brno City Municipality (MMB)
